Hi to everyone,
How are your holidays going? I came back home from few days and it’s always raining, that’s a good thing for my raspberries.
We went on holiday in not far home in Marche and Romagna, I live in Emilia-Romagna we use to say “Emilia” when we are reffering to the west zone and “Romagna” the east zone.
Part of my fam comes from Marche, I've never met any of my relatives from the Marche region.
My grandmother always said she was from the Marche, but she was born and raised in Bologna.
Her father was from the Marche (I visited the town where he was born years ago) and her mother was from Bologna so from Emilia.
Some pics of Sasso Corvaro the small city from where part of my fam comes from.
My grandmother basically said the same things I say when I say I feel very Tuscan, because part of my family is from Tuscany.
I don’t know if is my DNA talking but when I’m in Marche or Tuscany I always feel good. It’s the same when I’m in UK and Ireland so if is my DNA talking maybe I was for real a Viking in a previous life. 😂😂😂
During our day in Ancona we went in this small restaurant and shop (bottega) were we had this vegeratian platter, I’m onnivorous I eat meat only once a week and I buy it from places where I’m sure of the quality of the meat, when in the restaurant I see vegetarian or vegan dishes I always order it because are DELICIOUS! 🤤🤤
Plus Italian cuisine have a lot of vegetarian dishes because in the past people could’t afford to spend money for meat.
The vegetarian platter was incredibily good there was thing that I always make at home like the sauce of zucchini or the robiola with pistachios, what catched my attention was this pesto of lemon peel was a revelation I had no idea why I never made it.
The day after of course I went to buy lemons and I made it twice.
Today I will share the recipe with u, I discovered that the Pesto of Lemons it’s typical from the city of Procida in Sicily.
This is my version not the Sicilian one so of course it’s a little bit different, u can make pesto with more or less everything.
I make pesto with zucchini, eggplants, celery leaf, peppers, basil, rocket etc.
Ingredients:
The peel of 3 lemons (only buy natural lemons with edible peel).
60gr Almond.
A few basil and parsley or celery leaf.
A clove of garlic.
half cup of grated Parmigiano Reggiano.
salt and pepper to taste.
1 cup of olive oil.
For this recipe u have only to blitz the ingrediets together and season according to your taste.
U can use the pesto for pasta, bruschetta or u can add it on vegetables or meat.
Hope u enjoyed this recipe and that u will give it a try because once u've tried it once u can't do without it.
Which is your favorite Pesto?
If u liked it don’t forget to press on ❤️ and feel free to share it with everyone.
To all my subscribers THANK U U ARE AWESOME! 💕💕💕
For the other.. I love u anyway but what are u waiting for? It’s free!
Have a wonderful day
Laura
