My heart tells me that I may never know for sure.
“Truly Tom, what are you waiting for?” I haven’t asked myself that question enough. When I do ask it the answers are always revealing but never fully satisfying.
Could it be that I am the one who has crushed my own dreams?
It makes me wonder, is there ever a good reason to hold back. I’ve learned that hesitating on one inspiring idea deprives me from seeing further surprising developments that could never occur without taking that first step.
One never knows what doors of opportunity will open when we fail to walk down the hall of action.

We really never know the full scope of what our gifts could produce if we settle into that safe, familiar space and hold pat.
What if you’ll never feel like you know what your doing? Are you going to allow the lack of a feeling to stop you from living your one true life?
As I continue to age into the presence of an elder’s wisdom I realize that my days are numbered. Yours too. No one can argue about life’s finitude. It really is now or never, but even more so if you’re an elder.
Elders have an edge because of spiritual urgency, which is the sacred desire within to actualize your most meaningful intention now. By doing so, the urgent and important become one.
Riding the wave of spiritual urgency allows me to believe that my best, most meaningful days are yet to come and because of my elder status I know that they’re coming sooner.
Just because we can’t see into an uncertain future doesn’t mean that it won’t be magnificent. All possibilities exist especially when we act on our own best guesses. Even a shot in the dark is still a shot.
Regret is failure to act in accordance with what your heart is saying to you. ~ Blake Higginbotham
Right now your heart will show you the way. You only have to ask, trust and then act. Here’s how.
Choose one life area where you know you’ve held yourself back. Make it a major one by choosing either robust health, romantic love or vocational fulfillment.
Put your hand on your heart and say this. “I trust you, I love you, let’s do this!”
Take five long deep breaths. This signals your body’s intelligence to join you in this sacred intention.
Answer this question and follow through. What’s one small action I can take in the next 24 hours?
Take it as you feel the wonder of uncertainty lifting you up.
You may never fully feel like you know what you’re doing. But you’ll never regret doing it when you allow your heart to lead.
