It matters not whether you consciously conceal who you are for fear of not fitting in or if you subconsciously squash it because its boldness terrifies you. Both result in you being less than you could be and that hurts.
Yet there is hope for those who are willing to discover and express what makes them genuine to themselves.
Discovery of one’s identity is often found by going within to feel the very discomfort that they’ve settled for.
A willingness to consciously interact with our inner discomfort is the alchemy that initiates resolution. ~ Michael Brown

I used to be a master at pretending. I used to soothe my pain without facing or feeling it until there was no where to go but into the cauldron of my fiery center. My true nature, my core being only wanted to guide my life but it couldn’t until I decided to stand up for my true self.
Once you do clarity increases and decisions become much easier by freeing long-waiting intuitive guidance.
What we know matters but who we are matters more. ~ Brené Brown

The value of identity of course is that so often with it comes purpose. ~ Richard Grant

Yes, being who you are not, hurts on a deep soul-level because when we’re being who we are not we’ve taken the greatest gift we’ve been given and wasted it just because we’ve been too timid to bring our unknown qualities into the light.
Then we end up settling for something less than we could be enjoying. This happens in major life areas where being less than we are causes us to settle in vocational fulfillment, robust health and or romantic love.
The quantum field responds not to what we want, but to who we are being. ~ Joe Dispenza
The very good news is that just by beginning this most sacred exploration you’ll feel the life force energy that comes together only to those who risk letting go of who they are not.
