Alberta Has More Than Two Parties.

The NDP was handed an economy when oil was below $40. Rachel Notley chose to focus on infrastructure and funding social services. She knew this would put them in a deficit, but reasoned that the economy would smooth out and they would be able to pay for the services and infrastructure.

As a result, Alberta built schools, funded programs for at-risk students, smaller classrooms, and resources. They were ready to launch the new curriculum that the Conservative government before them and they worked on for four years. Unions were treated fairly, doctors had good contracts, hospitals stayed open, surgeries happened, and the system ran. They planned a new hospital in Edmonton, built one in Grande Prairie, replaced the Cancer clinic in Calgary, and planned a Super Lab (that would have helped during the pandemic). There were problems and missteps, but they did get a pipeline to tidewater with the Federal Government. They also raised the minimum wage to $15/hr - the highest in Canada at the time.

The big one was with Agriculture when they put in the regulations that anyone who works on a farm has to be covered by WCB. They were accused of spending money foolishly and putting the province in a deficit. (reminder, when we still didn’t have a pipeline finished - Rachel Notley purchased a contract for oil rail cars - Kenney came in and cancelled it for a huge penalty, then had to buy another contract to get the oil moving. He also cancelled the Super Lab - Danielle Smith’s UCP cancelled the South Edmonton hospital and keeps promising more beds (since 2024) - but to date we are still waiting )

The UCP has run record surpluses, yet Alberta has struggled. They underfunded education from the very beginning, and we are still the lowest funded per student in Canada. They started funding private schools at the highest rate in all of Canada, and now are going to even provide funds for building these schools. They have taken all new schools under Alberta infrastructure. Municipalities will be responsible for ensuring electrical, plumbing, and water infrastructure are in place while being starved of grant money from the province. They did not build schools or capacity for the people they advertised to come to Alberta.

Kenney took the curriculum and threw it in the shredder, coming back with a K-6 curriculum that is not age and developmentally appropriate - implemented all 7 grades at once. There were no teachers involved in developing this curriculum, and no resources for teachers to use. Implemented literacy and numeracy testing, which takes time away from teaching and testing Kindergarten students on Grade 2/3 concepts - one-on-one testing that takes time away from teaching in the classroom.

The UCP also had to deal with the Pandemic - Kenney was running Alberta’s response behind the scenes, but CMOH Deena Hinshaw got blamed for it all.

When Danielle Smith took over as leader of the UCP, she claimed that the unvaccinated in Alberta were the most discriminated group of people she had ever heard of, and she has done a lot to ensure they are on her side.

They also ordered $100 million of Turkish medication, but only received a partial order, and there is $49 million still outstanding. As well, there are several investigations into the corrupt care (private surgeries) along with the procurement scandal. They fired several CEOs and the Boards of AHS (Smith is using them as scapegoats). This has also cost the Alberta taxpayer millions of $$$ in severance pay.

Oil and gas wells are being orphaned, while you, the taxpayer, are bailing out these companies from paying land leases and taxes. As well as paying to shut down the wells and reclaim the land.

Rural Hospitals are closed regularly, and those in Edmonton have 18+ hours in the ER. There are no beds available for those who are sick. There are not enough beds available in the community for those who no longer need hospital care, or home care to visit people and help them meet their needs in a more appropriate setting. People are dying in ERs. waiting to be seen.

AISH has been cut by $200, and people are being moved onto ADAP with another $200 loss in income. They are expected to take job training and look for work. Many are in despair with this process. The government has awarded the contracts for training to two foreign companies with offices in Canada.

Last year, they toured the province with the Alberta Next Panel (the Free Alberta Strategy) FAS at a cost of $20 million. This year, they are holding a 9-question referendum based on the FAS, plus one about separation. Danielle Smith is urging people to vote to stay in Canada but to vote “yes” on the referendum questions, so she has a mandate for the next election. The trick is she can’t act on it for two years, but it keeps her base working to keep her as leader and get her elected.

(a video interview by one of the authors of the FAS - where he talks about treason and the implementation of the FAS - being illegal 9:23, and he also points out that Alberta is going to need help like the American Colonists - so looking at the USA to help Alberta. The more you know, the better able you are to understand why we are where we are today.

With all of this going on. They have wasted almost $80 Billion (I am sure it is over that by a lot) in the last 7 years. Where’s the Money $80 Billion from 2019 - 2026

So our advice is to listen to the candidates of the parties you are interested in, and instead of blindly voting for a party because your family and you have always voted that way, find out what they stand for. What are they going to do for you?

Everything Danielle Smith said she wasn’t going to do - she is doing and is spending taxpayer money convincing you to vote for it.

I am voting for someone who is going to build Alberta up and work with others. There are choices. The UCP are not team players. They ignore great ideas because they weren’t their ideas. It’s time to change that. We are #StrongerTogether.
