you'll never see the same sunrise twice.

I came across this line in a book yesterday, and it hit me like a brick in the head. This is not about the sky, nor about the sun. It is about time, impermanence, how each moment carries its own meaning, how it shapes everything.

Yes, every sunrise is unique — the sky, the clouds, the mood, the colors. Even you are different every day.

People, trees, and birds are distinct. Sunrise reminds me to live in the moment, to cherish every bit of it. The opportunities that come along are different. Sometimes the feelings are so contrasting, you can hardly understand yourself. You may never get to experience them again. The love we feel, the people we meet, and even the pain we carry — it is never static. We never truly encounter the same moment twice.

Just like the sky never repeats, you never stay the same person. Every sunrise meets a slightly different version of you. Even if you sit at the same café table with the same person, the conversation, the mood, the you of that moment is never repeated.

For the longest time, whenever I found myself in a similar situation I was in a year or two ago, I thought history was repeating itself, the past was knocking at my door again. But it was never the same — similar, yes, but never the same. Life might feel cyclical, but it is more like a spiral. That is why the same situation, years later, is actually a new one, with a new lesson.

I’m the person who believes in patterns, works in patterns, and spirals down in a pattern. Change scares me. Even the slightest change in my favorite recipe bothers me. Yet, this line reminded me that everything has to change, and in some way, I need to break the chain of my own patterns.

Likewise, sunsets never repeat themselves. I personally like sunsets more. They give me hope.

It’s like reading the same book more than once. The ending may feel familiar, but the experience will be different — because you are different each time.
