Before I start with this, for those who don’t know what this means:

Defence mechanisms are the ways people cope with anxiety and uncomfortable thoughts/emotions.

This happens when a person hides their true feelings and shows the opposite emotion instead. It helps them avoid accepting emotions that feels uncomfortable.

B tier: can help a person handle difficult feelings but hiding emotions too much can become unhealthy

This is when a person transfers their own feelings onto someone else.
Instead of accepting their own emotionsthey believe they belong to another person.

B tier again:very human and very common but it can become unfair when you start blaming others for your own emotions (😬)

This is when a person redirects negative emotions into something positive.
It allows them to express their feelings in a healthier way.

S tier: probably the best one out there.negative emotions are turned into something useful instead of becoming destructive

This is when a person refuses to accept a reality or situation.
They avoid facing something because it may feel difficult or uncomfortable.

D tier: it may protect someone from stress at first, but refusing to accept reality can prevent them from solving the problem

This is when a person creates explanations for their actions.
These reasons help them avoid accepting the actual cause behind their behaviour.
C tier: maybe fine when you use it on yourself because sometimes it helps you cope with disappointment, but when someone else uses it all the time, it gets very annoying

This is when a person stays away from a situation, thought, or feeling.
They do this because facing it feels uncomfortable.

C tier:it can provide temporary relief but avoiding problems for too long can make them harder to deal with

This is when a person consciously pushes away their thoughts/emotions and chooses to deal with them later on.

A tier: a useful way of temporarily putting aside emotions until you are ready to deal with them
