Hello! I’m back from CPH as of 6 pm last night, and what a joy it was to pull up in the Uber to see my daughter waiting for me outside. There is nothing like that giant embrace after time away to make you realize just how good it is to get home. More from my trip coming soon, but suffice to say I learned, loved, observed, worked, drank, ate, and felt a lot!!!
Bet you guys didn’t even notice I missed a newsletter on Tuesday, did you?! Everyone give me a pat on the back for taking a day off, please. It was somewhat unintentional, but right around Wednesday evening I realized I never actually clicked send on what I had planned and instead of stressing over it I choose to just….not. So that will come next week, instead, and the world will still turn.
Anyways, as you may know by now, I am perpetually playing with new formats and ways to write this newsletter that both bring me joy and give you what you want. Which is a surprisingly hard balance to strike, especially when I don’t always know what both of those things are. So today, let me introduce what I’m calling the weekender, which is really a “the weekly” 2.0. Because it turns out I kind of missed that format so we’re trying it again. Enjoy!
In this issue: the moodboard that defined my week. two articles worth your time this weekend, one about calley means, the other about influencers and their pivots. a few things I’m shopping for and a few things I’ve bought. a new wine bar worth visiting. makeup I actually like. our day at the beach. an impractical but dreamy skirt. are men weaponizing their incompetence (again) or are we just vain?
I think you can tell a lot about what a person is going through by their recent saves. I say this as someone who is admittedly very bad at regularly perusing the internet for inspiration and definitely does not save what she finds. But I am trying to get better, and if there is one thing you, dear readers, are good for…it’s making me better.1 Last week was all about a brand shoot I had to do and packing for CPH, which was surprisingly hard. More on that soon.
