okay, so if you’re a cookie lover like me, these oreo crumbl cookies are about to become your new obsession. imagine that rich, chocolatey cookie base packed with just the right amount of oreo crunch, topped with a dreamy cream cheese frosting that’s smooth, sweet, and perfectly balanced. these cookies bring all the best parts of an oreo — but in a soft, chewy cookie form that’s seriously addicting. and the frosting? next level. trust me, you’re going to want to make these again and again ♥︎

𖦁 the ingredients:

let’s break down what makes these cookies so good. every ingredient plays a role in that classic oreo flavor, with a twist of crumbl softness and that luscious frosting.

  • unsalted butter: softened butter is your best friend here. it creams with the sugars to give you that soft, rich cookie dough texture.

  • light brown sugar + granulated sugar: a combo that creates chewy texture and just enough sweetness without being overpowering. brown sugar adds a little caramel-y depth.

  • egg: one egg at room temperature binds the dough and adds moisture, keeping the cookies soft and tender.

  • vanilla extract: because vanilla makes everything better. it adds warmth and rounds out the flavors.

  • all-purpose flour: the base of the cookie dough, it gives structure.

  • unsweetened cocoa powder: for that deep chocolate flavor that’s essential to an oreo-inspired cookie.

  • oreo cookie crumbs: the star ingredient! folding these in gives you those perfect cookie bits throughout.

  • baking soda + baking powder: a little lift and fluff to keep the cookies soft and puffy without spreading too much.

  • salt: a pinch to balance the sweetness and bring out all the flavors.

for the frosting:

  • cream cheese: softened to smooth perfection, cream cheese gives the frosting a tangy richness that pairs perfectly with chocolate.

  • unsalted butter: softened butter adds creaminess and helps make the frosting spreadable.

  • vanilla extract: again, a touch of vanilla to elevate the frosting flavor.

  • powdered sugar: for sweetness and that fluffy frosting texture.

  • milk: just a splash to thin the frosting if it’s too thick to pipe or spread easily.

𖦁 how to make the perfect oreo crumbl cookies:

these cookies come together pretty easily, but don’t skip any steps — every part is important to get that perfect texture and flavor.

step 1: preheat and prep

  • preheat your oven to 350°f and line your baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. this helps prevent sticking and keeps your cookies looking perfect.

step 2: cream the butter and sugars

  • in a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and fluffy. this usually takes about 2 minutes with an electric mixer.

step 3: add wet ingredients

  • mix in the egg and vanilla extract until everything is fully combined and glossy.

step 4: mix dry ingredients

  • in a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. sifting helps prevent clumps and makes for a lighter dough.

step 5: combine dough

  • gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. don’t overmix!

  • fold in the oreo cookie crumbs last — this is the part that makes these cookies pop with oreo goodness.

step 6: shape and bake

  • scoop about 1/4 cup of dough onto your prepared baking sheet, spacing them out nicely so they have room to spread without sticking together.

  • bake for about 13 minutes, until the cookies are just set. they should be soft but fully cooked through — resist the urge to overbake!

step 7: make the frosting

  • while the cookies are baking, whip together the cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.

  • add the vanilla extract, then gradually add the powdered sugar one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition.

  • if your frosting feels too thick, add a little milk until it’s spreadable and silky.

step 8: frost and finish

  • once your cookies are warm but cool enough to handle, frost them generously with the cream cheese frosting.

  • sprinkle extra oreo crumbs on top for that perfect finishing touch — because yes, more oreo crumbs = more happiness.

𖦁 tips for perfect oreo crumbl cookies:

  • softened butter and cream cheese are key for both dough and frosting — it helps everything blend perfectly.

  • don’t overbake your cookies! they’ll firm up as they cool, so pulling them out when soft is the way to go.

  • gently fold in dry ingredients and oreo crumbs to keep your dough tender and full of cookie bits.

  • add frosting while cookies are warm for that melty, dreamy frosting effect, or wait until fully cooled if you want the frosting to hold its shape more.

𖦁 can i freeze the dough?

totally! scoop dough balls onto a baking sheet and freeze until solid. then transfer to a freezer bag. bake straight from frozen, adding a couple of extra minutes to your baking time. cookies fresh anytime you want!
