Happy July. Here’s what’s been on my mind, on my table and in my ears this month.

  1. Watching Mexico in the World Cup gave me life. The energy in CDMX was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Even though Mexico lost to England in the Round of 16, they played outstanding, and the energy they brought to the city and their fans was something I will never forget. The Azteca was electric. If you were anywhere near Mexico City for those games, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

  2. Pustefix bubbles. I picked some up when we were in Italy, and I am here to report that these bubbles are superior to all bubbles. I swear they sparkle. If you’re a parent and you’ve ever stood outside blowing bubbles thinking “these could be better,” Pustefix is the answer. They’re a German brand, and they’ve been around forever. Tedros is obsessed.

  3. Matrescence by Lucy Jones. Next on my reading list, recommended by a dear friend. It’s a deeply personal investigation into the transformation of becoming a mother, drawing on neuroscience, evolutionary biology, psychoanalysis and ecology. It was a New Yorker Best Book of the Year and longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction. Everything I’ve read about it makes me feel like it’s going to be one of those books that puts language to things I’ve felt but haven’t been able to articulate.

  4. Rose of Nevada. Next on my watch list, also recommended by a dear friend. It’s a Mark Jenkin film starring George MacKay and Callum Turner about a fishing vessel that disappeared 30 years ago and mysteriously reappears in a Cornish village. Shot on 16mm, haunting, atmospheric and completely singular. It premiered at Venice, played TIFF and NYFF, and has a 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. I love a film that lingers with you.

  5. I’ve been diving into First America, a new podcast from Pushkin Industries hosted by Rebecca Nagle. It reexamines the founding of the United States through Indigenous history, and it is so good and so important. With the country’s 250th anniversary this summer, the timing couldn’t be more relevant. Rebecca is Cherokee Nation and an incredible journalist, and the show reveals how much of the story we’ve been told about the American Revolution leaves out the role of Indigenous nations entirely. I can’t recommend this one enough.

  6. An artist I’ve long been loving: Pedro Pedro. His paintings are so vibrant and fun. He takes everyday objects like fruit bowls, half-eaten sandwiches and clothes strewn about and turns them into these spirited, energetic still lifes full of bold color and humor. He paints with textile paint on unprimed linen, so everything feels soft and alive even when the subject is a sock. He’s LA-based and his work has been shown at The Hole in New York and featured in Juxtapoz. The kind of art that makes you smile every time you look at it.

  7. If you’re in London this summer, the Serpentine Pavilion 2026 is designed by LANZA atelier, a Mexico City-based architecture studio founded by Isabel Abascal and Alessandro Arienzo. They built the whole thing around an undulating brick wall inspired by traditional English serpentine walls. It’s the 25th edition of the pavilion and it’s on view through October. I love that a Mexican studio is behind it.

  8. The Hunza G Faye one piece in cornflower blue. My go-to suit this summer. The color is perfect, and the fit is incredibly flattering. If you’ve never tried Hunza G, their signature crinkle fabric stretches to fit basically any body, which I love. I’ve been wearing them for years.

  9. Eidon liquid electrolytes. My friend April had these while we were in Italy, and I ordered immediately when we got home. I am so sick of flavored powdered electrolytes, so these are perfect. Completely tasteless. You just add 30 drops to your water everyday, and that’s it. No sweetener, no flavor, no grit. Game changer.

  10. Got these Igor Shoes jellies for Tedros in Italy, and we’re obsessed. They’re the European jelly sandal, and they come in the cutest colors. Perfect summer shoe for a toddler. They get wet, they dry, they’re easy on and off. Everything you need.

  11. I want to make every single one of these scoopable salads from Jenn Lueke’s Eat Goood newsletter. If you’re looking for summer salad inspiration that goes beyond lettuce, this roundup is it. The kind of recipes you want to have in your fridge all week.

  12. My baby is walking. That’s it. That’s the item. I’m not okay.

That’s the memo! What are you loving this month? Tell me in the comments. I always find the best stuff from you all.
