Why do some people succeed in life and others don’t?
Because you can’t be what you think you don’t deserve to be.
Simple as that.
Most writers don’t think of themselves as writers. They find it difficult to admit that they write. They stammer when asked what they do for a living. Some are ashamed to even admit to their loved ones that they love to write. They are plagued by fears that are impossible to shake. Fear of judgment. Fear of asserting themselves. Fear of not being good enough…
There is a major dissonance between what they currently are and what they would like to be. They think of themselves as writers but do not embody any facet of the writer’s identity. Programmed to fail by their limiting beliefs.
They don’t understand that the universe is governed by energetic laws that are not taught in school. And one of those laws is:
You cannot become what you believe you do not deserve to be.
You could be immensely talented, but reality will always refuse to bridge the gap between how you see yourself and the identity of your dreams. Even if you were lucky and finally made it big, your identity, ingrained in your soul, would quickly drag you back into the shadows. Make you sabotage yourself and fail.
Question: Do you think you’re a writer? Do you think you deserve to be one? Is your identity as a writer firmly rooted in who you are?
If you don’t dare call yourself a writer.
If you still hesitate to call yourself a writer.
If you think your writing isn’t that good.
You’re cooked.
Well, you’re cooked, but not for life. You still have one chance. To truly understand that you can only become what you think you deserve to be.
Break the mental seal or remain imprisoned forever.
If you’re still with me and you’ve decided that you are a writer, that your voice deserves to be heard, and that you are ready to become one with your fate.
Read these sentences slowly:
I am a writer even if no one reads me.
Failure is not a verdict, but a transitional state.
I write because I need to write.
I write because that’s who I am.
I am building a life’s work, not a single post.
The successful writer follows his routine, so I write even when I don’t feel like writing.
Successful writers are disciplined, so I am disciplined.
Successful writers publish at regular intervals, so I publish at regular intervals.
Successful writers are read, so my work is clear.
Successful writers expose themselves, so I am not afraid of judgment.
Successful writers are identifiable, so I stand by my ideas.
Successful writers are proud of their words, so I am proud of mine.
Successful writers have networks, so I’m building mine.
Successful writers are resilient, I calmly endure indifference.
Successful writers are brave enough to write what they think, so I do it too.
Print them. Read them every single morning. Add your own sauce to what you think is the identity of a successful writer.
Ask yourself: concretely, what does a successful writer do? And DO IT. Embrace the identity. By doing so, you send a signal to the universe. I am a writer. You are no longer moving toward something. Reality will be forced to adapt to you.
To succeed, whether as a writer or whatever you want to be, you will need to break free from all conditioning, some of which stems from childhood. You will need to overcome all your self-doubt and hesitation. It will require immense work on yourself. You will need to dare to tell yourself that you deserve to be what you want to be.
Not everyone can do it. But for the lucky few who succeed, life is beautiful when you dare to become who you are.
With love.
