This isn’t a big idea - just something small I’m trying.
At this time of year there’s a lot of pressure to set goals and start new habits, even though for many of us it’s dark, cold, and energy is often low. January doesn’t always lend itself to big reinventions despite what our social media feeds might suggest.
So instead of adding something new, I’m keeping things simple.
This week, I’m letting kindness be my guide - in small moments like pausing before snapping at my teenager or being a little gentler with myself when I’m tired.
Your small step: choose one value that matters to you right now - calm, honesty, curiosity, adventure, kindness - and let it guide you this week whenever you can.
If you’d like a bit more on why this works and how to choose a value, we’ve written a short blog post here: How to set your values and let them guide your week
There’s no need to do this perfectly. Just notice what changes.
If you feel like it, share your value for the week in the comments. And if you’re finding these fortnightly small steps from us helpful, please tap on the 🧡 button and let us know.
Until next time,
Louise and Mark.
