First a small update on the book:

• The book is being printed as we speak. I can’t change anything anymore. Done. Finito. Terminé. Now all I have to do, is wait for three weeks and hope there’s no spelling mistake that we haven’t seen…

Over a hundred years ago, the first person stood at the assembly line. Since then, our work has fundamentally changed, but our way of working has not. It's time for a new approach to collaboration, one that considers who we truly are: humans with needs and emotions.

In this book, Marc Vollebregt shares insights from his own experience and conversations with employees of companies like Tony's Chocolonely, bol, and RKC Waalwijk. He shows how we can build people-centered organizations that are not just focused on performance, but also on trust, connection, and responsibility. You don’t work better by ignoring your needs, working longer hours, or working 'harder.' You work better by building mutual trust and safety in teams, by discussing expectations, and by taking responsibility. And the great thing is: what’s good for people is also good for business.

Zo werkt de mens offers practical tools to create workplaces where this is reality, where everyone feels seen and valued, regardless of their role in the organization.

I know many of you live in Sweden, Denmark, France and England. And a lot of you don’t talk Dutch, but still live in the Netherlands, so I wanted to share the news with you. On the 8th of November, I’m officially releasing my book in Volkshotel Amsterdam. Will I see you there? It’s going to be good fun! 🎉

If you understand a bit of Dutch (gezellig, hoe gaat het?), there’s going to be interesting talks you’re welcome to join. If you don’t understand Dutch, you can join for the drinks after, and after a few drinks, others probably think you talk dutch anyway.

After being a professional footballer and having leadership roles at organizations like KNVB and Vitesse and is now Technical Director of RKC Waalwijk. Mo achieves exceptional results with a modest budget by focusing on the person behind the player.

As a Professor of Accountancy at Nyenrode Business University, Marlies focuses on organizational culture and behavior. Besides her academic work, she was Kwartiermaker Future Accountancy and runs her own consultancy, helping boardrooms with behavioral change and risk management.

As a Way of Working Coach at bol, Splinter helped implement the transition to self-organizing teams. He assists leaders and teams in optimizing their teamwork by observing, asking questions, and uncovering underlying issues to drive improvements.

And of course, myself ;)
