Conversation with Alabama's 4th District Congressional Candidate Amanda Pusczek

Check out my latest interview with a wonderful progressive Congressional Candidate from Alabama’s 4th District, Amanda Pusczek! It was an absolutely amazing and inspiring conversation. Amanda talked about surviving growing up with two alcoholic parents and turning away from the bigotry that made them bitter and miserable. She threw herself into the helping profession of nursing. She learned to embrace critical thinking and practice living her values by saving lives through care and kindness in psychiatric nursing.

Ultimately, the skills and lessons Amanda learned in nursing are helping her build a powerful campaign in a deep red district in Alabama. In her work with patients, she learned the value of advocacy, education, and persistence in getting results even when the situation seems grim. She has learned to push past fear and stand firmly on her values even when it is uncomfortable. That is the kind of fortitude that we need in our political representatives.

Amanda is incredibly strong for choosing to transform the politics in her deep red district, and she deserves all the support she can get. It’s a wonderful thing to have a candidate we can support who believes in science, rationality, justice, and the possibilities for the revival of the human spirit. She offers hope that we can truly win and change this country even in the most Trump-indoctrinated areas.
