If you just subscribed, or you’ve been here forever and never heard this story, hi. I’m so glad you’re here. This is the post I want you to read first.

The story behind Wholesomely Morgan

I didn’t start cooking because I loved cooking.

I was a busy mom. I ate what was easy. a lot of protein bars, a lot of takeout, a lot of “I’ll just have cereal for dinner.” Cooking felt like one more thing to fail at.

Then I had my son.

And postpartum hit me like a truck.

not the version of postpartum you see on Instagram, with soft lighting and matching pajamas. The real and one version: hormones crashing for months, brain fog so thick I couldn’t remember if I’d already brushed my teeth, zero energy or appetite, mood swings that scared me, and a body that felt nothing like mine.

I couldn’t plan a meal, let alone cook one. So for a while, I didn’t.

And slowly, I started feeling worse.

One day, I decided to try the dumbest, simplest food I could make. 5 ingredients. 20 minutes. no thinking. I wasn’t trying to be a food blogger. I wasn’t trying to get pretty photos for Instagram. I just needed to eat something that wasn’t a granola bar.

That was the beginning.

Turns out, when you start feeding yourself actual food, your hormones notice, your energy notices, your mood notices. Slowly, I came back to myself. not because I became a wellness girl overnight, but because I was doing the one small thing I could control.

Every recipe I’ve posted since then is a recipe that brought me back.

That’s why everything here is toddler-tested, mom-tested, 5-ingredient-friendly, and simple. not because I’m a chef but because I’m a mom who needed the food to actually work.

What you’re getting by being here

Every week, I send my What We’re Eating This Week post to every subscriber, free. It’s a roundup of everything I’m cooking, shopping, and feeding my family. Meal prep ideas, grocery finds, recipes that worked (and the ones that didn’t).

That’s free, forever. That’s the deal.

Why some people upgrade to paid ($5/month)

Because a few things don’t belong in a free email, and they’re the things paying subscribers tell me they love most.

What saved me this week? Every other Sunday, I write a longer letter about what’s actually helping me in this season of motherhood. postpartum stuff, hormone stuff, low-tox swaps, the little mindset things that are carrying me through. This is the stuff I don’t put on Instagram because Instagram isn’t the right place for it.

monthly meal plans + shopping lists. In the first week of every month, paid subscribers get a printable 4-week dinner plan for the entire month, plus the exact grocery list. no thinking, no planning, no “what’s for dinner” right at dinnertime.

Morgan’s cart. seasonal roundups of the products I’m actually using in my kitchen, home, and mom life. Plus full access to the paid chat where we share finds in real time.

If any of that sounds like your thing, the paid tier is $5 a month or $60 a year. You can always start with free and upgrade whenever.

Whether you’re paid or free, welcome.

I’m so glad you’re here. Drop a comment and tell me what’s on your dinner plate this week. I read everyone.

Morgan 💛
