In the autumn of 2024 I bought three metres of ‘Strawberry Jam,’ yarn dyed, crinkled linen. It was delicious!
I used McCalls M7131 to make super wide leg trousers and the remnants to make Merchant and Mill’s Audrey Hood. Wearing them both with my Dagmar Jacket (Petite Knits) is one of my favourite outfits.
Earlier this year I was delighted to find a supply of the very same salt crinkled linen to stock in the shop. We have three gorgeous colours, ‘Lemon Sherbet,’ ‘Taffy’ and ‘Orange Candy.’ The fabric is 119gsm and 135cm wide so it’s wonderfully lightweight but still structured, so great for flamboyant patterns for sunny weather.
This is the short version of Simplicity S3135 lightly hacked to create a wrap around waist tie and big bow. I’m really pleased with this make and I apologise to all of you in the North East, UK for scaring the sunshine away. I can’t wait for it to return so I can wear my lovely new shirt!
