Review: St. Kilda Coffee

Welcome to March! I’m excited because this week I’m taking you to Hell’s Kitchen to one of my new favorite spots in the neighborhood. While I don’t love being anywhere in the general vicinity of Port Authority, if you do find yourself here, there are still solid options. There are two locations, but today’s review is of the W. 46th St. outpost.

Neighborhood: Hell’s Kitchen
Address: 374 West 46th St.

Seating: There are four two-person tables facing the wall, with a shared bench along one side. Outside, you’ll sit on small stools. There’s also a small seating area on the other side with similar seating but no tables, as well as bar-style seating facing the window with four stools.

Plugs: There are several outlets near the two-person tables.

Wi-Fi: Yes

Bathroom: There is no bathroom. Bladder beware!

Food & Drink: This place offers standard coffee shop fare, including pastries, coffee, and tea. The Aussie-inspired café roasts its own beans, albeit offsite.

Noise Level: It’s not loud, but there’s enough ambient noise that you can have a conversation without inadvertently eavesdropping on those around you.

Lighting: It’s down a flight of stairs, so while there is some natural light, it’s not as bright as it could be. There is bright overhead lighting.

Overall: This is a solid option if you’re in Hell’s Kitchen, not far from Port Authority. It’s on the smaller side, but that’s fairly standard for the neighborhood.
