Review: Loveless Coffee

This week, we venture to the wonderful neighborhood of Bushwick. In a neighborhood filled with writers and other creative types, there’s obviously no shortage of coffee shops built with remote work in mind. But today, I take you to Loveless. It’s from the same great minds behind the coffee shop formerly known as Dweebs, which had a pretty solid community built in.

I went here most recently to catch up with my friend Bryant, not to do work. You may know him as the eventual Grammy-winning musician Boysee (time to start working toward having him on your Spotify Wrapped by the end of 2026).

Anyway, without further ado: Loveless.

Loveless is a roastery with ample seating.

Neighborhood: Bushwick
Address: 86 Central Avenue

Seating: There are 12 tables. In the middle, there’s a big display of plants that you can sit on. The seating consists of small tables with a bench along the wall and a relatively small stool at each table facing the wall. It’s great if you just need a laptop, but not great for much else.

Plugs: This is not the most plug-friendly spot. There are a few, but I would recommend arriving with a full charge.

Wi-Fi: Yes

Bathroom: Yes

Food & Drink: The options here are great. Of course, there are solid pastries, as you’d expect at any coffee shop, but the coffee itself is what really stands out—shocking, I know. Loveless is home to a roastery!

Noise Level: It’s relatively quiet. It has the lull of background noise and some conversations, but it’s a comfortable volume for working, also just loud enough for a conversation without making eavesdropping unavoidable.

Lighting: This is not, in my opinion, the most well-lit space. It can seem a little cold on darker days.

Overall: This is a solid choice in Bushwick with lots of seating, and it gets the job done. But if I’m honest, this place is much better suited for a meeting or a catch-up.
