A woman who set up a pioneering physio-led Pilates business has won the Entrepreneur prize at the Merseyside Women of the Year 2026 awards.

A touring theatre company is bringing its latest production to West Kirby on Friday 3 July.

‘Wensleydale Whey’ will transport audiences to the Yorkshire Dales where the stakes are high. Read more.

A vibrant collection of contemporary pieces, from artists working with paint, printmaking and porcelain is on at the LAKE gallery on Grange Road in West Kirby until 8 August.

The gallery is open Thurs – Sat, 10am – 4pm.

• Hoylake Allotments open day takes place on Sunday 19 July from 12-4pm. It includes ‘Spot the Scarecrow’, live entertainment, stalls and activities.

• We’re into summer fair season at local primary schools - on Saturday 4 July there are fundraisers at West Kirby Primary School on Anglesey Road (11am - 2pm) and St Bridget’s School and Church on Rectory Fields (12:30pm - 4pm).

In June, westkirby.todaynews.co.uk was visited by more than 5,000 people and had around 9,000 page views. Our posts on Facebook, Instagram and X reached around 180,000 people, and we are also on Threads! Around 1,300 people subscribe to this weekly newsletter.
