BetSaracenBet of the Week:
BlakeBets- BYU +2.5 (-110)
We’ve got a play in the last ranked matchup of the day, as the Cougars host the Iowa State Cyclones in a big-time big 12 conference matchup. This is a great buy low, sell high spot as Iowa State is coming off an impressive win over #2 ranked Houston while BYU has really struggled as of late, losing 6 of their last 7 games. BYU has been strong at home (12-2). Iowa State has not been bad on the road (4-3) but they are a different team away from home (15-0 at home, 4-0 on a neutral). I don’t think ISU has a good answer defensively for Dybantsa. Positionally, it would be Momcilovic guarding AJ but that would be a huge mistake. The Iowa state guards are too small for that matchup and the bigs are too slow. It will be a matter of AJ getting help from his supporting cast without Richie Saunders. I expect an all-out effort from a desperate BYU team in a rocking environment. Go Cougs!
WeeklyWagers- Creighton +13 (-110)
Creighton takes on the red-hot Red Storm from St. Johns, winners of their last 12 games, including a 17 point road win over Creighton earlier in the year. But I think the number has reached its peak and like the points with the road dog. This is not the Creighton we are used to seeing as they are 14-13 on the year, but they are coming off a big win over UCONN and Greg McDermott teams will always be able to shoot the ball from outside and put up points. STJ is bound to come back to earth at some point, and I think the Bluejays stay hot from outside and make this one close.
WeeklyWagers- Houston -5.5 (-110)
Houston has another big win today as they face off against Arizona after losing a hearbreaker on the road vs Iowa State. Arizona is also losers of 2 of their last 3, so both teams are looking for a big win here. But Arizona is dealing with some injuries that could prove fatal against a physical team such as Houston. The Wildcats will be without star Freshman Koa Peat, and Dwayne Aristode. This will really hurt Arizona on the glass, where Houston dominates, and their interior scoring. With that being the case, I think Houston is able to force Arizona into a lot of difficult long 2’s/3’s, while imposing their will on the other end.
Kelvin Sampson has covered his last 10 games as a home favorite of -6 or less, and looking to make it 11 today!
