Hello to new subscribers and old friends of Watson Fothergill Walk. Thanks for joining me to see Nottingham differently. Keep reading for the latest dates and event news.

I’m Lucy, tour guide and art historian. This newsletter shares dates for my architecture tours and other events in Nottingham.

Watson Fothergill Walk is an architecture tour of Nottingham looking at the life and work of Victorian architect Watson Fothergill, who was originally known as Fothergill Watson. The story of his name change, his buildings and the people who commissioned them is told on a 2-hour tour of the city centre.

Sunday, 23 August, 10 am 1 ticket remaining

Sunday, 6 September, 10 am new date

Sunday, 13 September, 2 pm new date - rare afternoon slot!

Tickets are £20 each.

Another chance to join me for Nottingham’s Berni Inns & Their Buildings, my illustrated talk looking at the history of Berni Inn, the groundbreaking British chain restaurant. In its heyday it had up to nine branches in the Nottingham area, in historic buildings with stories to tell.

This talk was a sell-out earlier in the year, so I’m running it again at The Vat & Fiddle pub on Wednesday, 23 September, 7 pm. Tickets are £10 each

Nottingham’s Berni Inns and their buildings tickets are here.

I’m working on a new tour in association with Nottingham Contemporary, exploring Nottingham’s public art, sculpture and street art. I’m running a Work in Progress version on Thursday, 27 August, 11 am

Numbers are strictly limited and it would be great to get some feedback to help me shape up the tour, (and come up with a better name for it!).

Public Art Tour Work in Progress, meet at Blend Cafe, Nottingham Contemporary, Thursday, 27 August, 11am. Tickets £10 each

I have very limited availability for private tours in September & October - if you have a small group (up to 20 people) who would enjoy any of my tours at a time of your choice, please drop me a line. (Minimum charges apply).
