Rudy de Waele, Alex de Carvalho · Voices of Emergence

In collaboration with Lisanne Buik of Gracious AI, Voices of Emergence presents AI, Leadership & Agency - a leadership program designed to strengthen human agency amid profound technological and global transformation.

At a time when artificial intelligence is reshaping how we think, decide, and lead, this initiative invites leaders to engage with AI consciously, responsibly, and with discernment.

This is not a technical training; it is a journey into the human capacities required to navigate and steward intelligence in an age of accelerating change.

AI, Leadership & Agency

During this course, participants will develop:

Clarity in the AI Noise

Understand what AI is actually doing - to decisions, authorship, and accountability - and cut through the hype with grounded judgment and a clear value compass.

Agency Over Dependency

Define what remains human and non-delegable in your context - in communication, product, strategy, hiring, leadership - so AI sharpens your thinking instead of quietly replacing it.

Capacity You Can Apply Immediately

Build repeatable practices, standards, and frameworks for decision-making that endure even as the tools continue to evolve.

The defining challenge of AI is not technological. It is decisional, ethical, and organisational. As intelligence becomes embedded across workflows, communication, and governance structures, leaders are confronted with a new imperative: not merely to adopt AI, but to guide it with clarity and responsibility.

The real question is no longer what AI can do, but how we choose to work with it.

Across industries, organisations are accelerating adoption while struggling to integrate AI with discernment and oversight. The result is a widening gap between technological capability and human readiness.

Consider the emerging data:

  • Only 21% of organisations have mature governance to steer what they have already deployed, particularly with agentic AI (Deloitte, 2026).

  • 23–58% of employees are using Shadow AI, often without organisational oversight (EY, 2026).

  • 70% of organisations face significant data-leak risks due to unsanctioned AI use (Cisco, 2026).

  • 56% year-on-year increase in AI-related harmful incidents highlights the growing exposure to risk (Aon, 2026).

  • 37% of companies are using AI only at a surface level, failing to unlock its strategic potential (Deloitte, 2026).

These figures reveal a deeper truth: the AI revolution is not constrained by technology, but by leadership capacity.

At Voices of Emergence, we believe that the defining capability of the AI era is not technical proficiency, but agency - the ability to make conscious, responsible, and context-aware decisions in partnership with intelligent systems.

As Lisanne Buik explores in her essay, You’re Using AI - Or Is It Using You?, the true risk lies not in the technology itself, but in the subtle erosion of authorship and accountability:

To navigate this terrain, leaders must cultivate clarity of thought, a principled stance, and the capacity to act with discernment.

This is precisely the terrain we explore in our new learning journey.

From Insight to Action: The Enactment Arc

Central to the program is the Enactment Arc, a developmental framework created by Alex de Carvalho that transforms insight into meaningful, responsible action.

To explore its foundations, we invite you to read:

Together, these reflections illuminate how leaders can build the capacities required to act wisely amid complexity, uncertainty, and acceleration.

Who This Program Is For

This program is designed for:

  • Entrepreneurs integrating AI into their products, services, and operations.

  • Leaders and executives responsible for teams, culture, risk, and strategic direction.

  • Consultants and advisors guiding clients through digital transformation.

  • Organisations seeking principled, practical, and responsible AI adoption.

Participants are invited to bring real-world challenges from their organisations, ensuring immediate relevance and practical application

The question facing leaders today is not whether AI will reshape organisations - it already is.

The real question is whether we will shape its integration consciously or allow it to shape us by default.

This program is an invitation to lead with clarity, act with agency, and steward technology responsibly in service of people, organisations, and society.

We look forward to welcoming you.
