Daniela Gaidano & A. Visintini · Violoncello da Spalla

As promised, here a disclosure of our next trip, starting on Monday!

I wanted to post you a simple image instead of many words, so I followed the suggestions of many and tried to get one from chat gpt:

Frustrated by the fact that, despite being very close to what I asked, it didn’t seem to be able to tweak some simple things in the 10 free images generation available, I moved to other programs, like Da Vinci:

or Gemini:

Ending up with Claude:

Ok, you may have guessed our itinerary. The thing that still sounds unbelievable is that in 15 days we have managed to plan meetings with 14 people: museum directors and curators, luthiers, string makers, da spalla players, and also friends and relatives.

It will be a very intense trip!

We are a bit stressed because today, in a bank holiday day and just before leaving, our bigger car broke, so we will have to go with the small one! It was just a tire, then something else came out, and anyway it was not possible to have it repaired in time for Monday. When the tow truck went away I taught it was a pity I forgot to take a pic for the newsletter, so I asked Claude:

“Make me an image of a silver VW Passat on a yellow tow truck”

Maybe I’ll start to draw again myself… 🙄

Details I liked so much that it’s hard to let them go away!! This Daniela’s Violoncello da Spalla and has found its home in Hong Kong!

Are you a luthier interested in making a Violoncello da Spalla?

In the archive of this newsletter, I documented the whole process, sharing measures and templates. You can check the index and some of the posts at this link, and if you subscribe to a paid plan you have instant access to all the posts and to a private chat where you can ask me any question.
