Somehow I stopped writing this update. One Sunday, I decided not to send an update and then that cascaded, for over two months. So after not missing a week for nearly 2 years, I missed 10 of them… Oh well.

It feels like we’ve hit an inflection point with COVID. Or at least with caring about COVID. For the past 6 months, the world has been suspended motionless. Weddings cancelled, travel cancelled, friends unseen.

But in the past month, everything happened. I’ve seen multiple friends get engaged and buy houses. Family trips are being scheduled again. Life is starting to return to normal.

…and we’ve hit two record days of new COVID cases.

We’ve launched a lot with Luma in the past couple months.

Launch Your Paid Membership

One feature I’m most excited about is Luma Memberships that we just launched a week ago.

With a membership, you can offer members:

  • intimate Zoom events

  • a private newsletter

  • a Slack community

  • and more

We’ve gotten a ton of sign ups for the membership product and we’re onboarding people this week.

…and hopefully one of my next weekly updates will be going out via Luma :)

I’m in Phoenix, AZ for a few weeks visiting Jesse, a good friend from home. His wedding was the last public event I attended before COVID shut everything down.

I brought a camera that I use for Zoom but I don’t have an SD card reader here, so no way of getting those photos on my computer… Below is a photo from Jesse’s phone!

Yesterday we did a 13 mile hike up to Humphrey’s Peak which, at 12,637ft, is the highest point in Arizona.

We started talking about the highest point in each state and I think this is the first highest point I’ve been to. This discussion also led to the discovery of the Highpointers Club, a group of people trying to ascend the highest point in each state.

If you are in northern Florida or southern Alabama, I recommend driving by Britton Hill which is the lowest high point with an elevation of just 345ft…

This is a new section. Let’s see if people actually respond. I hope you do!

What’s the tallest mountain that you’ve climbed? Or the highest point (non-plane / balloon / helicopter) that you’ve been to?

Replies go to my inbox and are not public.
