Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Quick update on a couple things happening this month.
I was sick (twas the season) and had to push it. The new date is Saturday, March 14, 3–6pm at Sugar Mouse — same everything, just a different day. If you already signed up, thank you for being patient with me.
I’ve met too many aspiring comedians who tried a workshop or a couple of open mic’s and never got onstage again. That’s fine if it’s a just a bucket list item for you. The world of stand-up comedy can be unpleasant, but we need under-represented voices to speak out and take up space more than ever. So my workshop is pragmatic, the goal is to set you up not just to succeed, but to sustain.
Sign up, bring a friend, it’s only 3 hours and $75. You’ll go home with a digital textbook, a writing exercise, a reading list, and a plan.
Aaaaaaaaaaand this one’s got a fun lineup.
We’ve got Sarah Hartshorne — yes, that Sarah Hartshorne, America’s Next Top Model Cycle 9 contestant and writer of a very readable memoir You Wanna Be on Top?. The hangry-model-to-yappy-stand-up-comedian pipeline is REAL.
If some Top Model tea isn’t enough for you, we’ve also got a mystery guest who I am not allowed to say anything about yet (they were in a very Chinese time of their life way before it was cool; DM me if you want the scoop).
📅 March 12, 8pm
📍 Comedy Village, 352 W 44th St
🎟️ Early bird tickets: $18 — last day to grab that price is March 5. After that they go up to $25. Note that the $20 minimum in the showroom still applies!
See you soon
— Vickie
