Hello everyone! I’ve had an incredible roller coaster of a month. Lots of thing happened both in my personal life and career. You might have seen my posts regarding the Art Trip to Gothic Yorkshire in partnership with Go Tribe. Well, last night, I received a message from them telling me that the 18 spots have sold out in less than a week. Let me take this chance to tell you how grateful I am for your incredible support. I don’t take it for granted ever, and that’s why I always end up overflowing with love (and surprise). I’ve been building and strengthening my once shaking confidence for years now, but I still struggle recognizing how much love and support I have all around me. So thank you from the bottom of my heart! I can’t wait to meet you all and draw with you!!!

The Wayward Vesper comes out 1-2 times a month, upon a Full Moon or a New Moon.

Each Vesper includes 13 questions (or Journaling Prompts) gathered from 13 tarot cards pulled specifically for each lunar event.

13 like the 13 new moons and full moons.

On the 14th of July we’re experiencing a New Moon in Cancer.

The Moon is in her own sign of Cancer, which makes her energy more potent, intense and present in our lives.

Right now the Moon is currently in conjunction with Mercury, the planet of communication, and Mercury itself is also in exact conjunction with the Sun (cazimi). The Sun gives an extra injection of energy to Mercury, that is now at its full potency. However, Mercury is also currently in retrograde.

“Tiny Mercury, the prince of communication, goes “reverse” every four months for three weeks at a stretch. During those irksome interludes you can expect minor mishaps and annoyances. When Mercury is retrograde, devices act up, transportation takes the maximum amount of time, and the word-of-the-day is “glitch”.
[…]
Yet despite what you may have heard, retrograde Mercury isn’t an evil force out to get you. It’s a rain-soaked afternoon, not a hurricane; a delayed flight, not a mid-air collision. It encourage you to slow down, to adapt, to wait, to put things into perspective and to be flexible. It also offers something most of us desperately need: a time-out and a chance to pick up the pieces”.

- Rae Orion - Astrology for dummies

The author here also gives us a list of what TO DO during Mercury retrograde, and happily enough, it is also the perfect to do list for this New Moon in Cancer. Cancer rules the fourth house, the house of family and home, convivial things and also the inner world, the inner home, the home of the self.
So this is the perfect time to:

  • Review

  • Revise

  • Reconsider

  • Revisit

  • Redo

  • Remember

  • Repair

  • Reorganize

  • Release

  • Relax

Cancer is a Water sign, and this makes it the ideal time to nurture and take care of ourselves:

“The crab is a natural caregiver, be it for children, or other people”
- The Library of Esoterica - Astrology

Water is always a powerful ally in ritual, so if you feel inclined or inspired to do so, consider using water in any way to work with this current energy. Here are some examples:

  • Whisper your intention to your water. Ask water to help you release/revise/review/relax, than express gratitude and drink it. Water holds memories, remembers and provides :)

  • Have a relaxing shower/ bath and talk to the water! Speak up your worries or just chat with water and say thank you for being there for you 🌀

  • Swim in the sea/ocean. Salty waters have powerful cleansing properties, so ask the sea to help you release whatever does not serve you anymore to prepare you for renewal. You can also ask to have a blessed new beginning! As always, thank the water for helping you out ♡

So, the following 13 questions are intended to help us gain clarity over what new intentions we want to set, what new beginnings are waiting for us, what needs to go, what needs to stay, and what we want to bring into our sacred home (both the physical one and the inner one).
Let the cards open up the communication channel between you and the Universe.

Tip: Turn your answers into positive affirmations, whisper them to the water and then drink it all up during this New Moon 🌚

Please, if possible, reserve a quiet, safe space for yourself. If you’d like to, dim the lights and light a candle (you can check colour correspondences to pick your candle accordingly, but remember that white is always a good option). You can also put on some instrumental music to set the vibe and add a scent of your choice.

When you feel ready, we can begin :)
