This week, we’ll be heading to the Stella York runway show, officially kicking off Fall buying season. It’s one of the first opportunities to see the newest collections before they ever make their way to social media, Pinterest, or bridal magazines. These are the gowns no one has seen yet, and we can’t wait to experience them.
As exciting as it is to see the latest trends, we’re not just watching a fashion show. We’re imagining you.
As each gown walks the runway, we’re asking ourselves dozens of questions. Is the plunge too deep? Would the bodice be even more beautiful lined? Does that lace pattern flatter from every angle? Would this gown shine in ivory... or would Moscato make the details come alive? Every bead, neckline, silhouette, and fabric is thoughtfully considered.

One of my favorite moments in a bridal appointment does not always happen when the bride finds the dress. Sometimes, it happens when we add the accessory.
We usually wait until a bride has narrowed her search to two or three gowns before introducing veils, capes, sleeves, and other finishing touches. Too many accessories too early can create confusion, but once the direction is clear, the right detail can bring the entire vision into focus.
This week, I watched that happen for two different brides. For one, it was a bridal cape that transformed her gown into the dramatic, enchanted look she imagined for her castle wedding, complete with what she lovingly called “Professor Snape vibes.” For another, it was a statement veil that added the nontraditional, gothic flair she had been searching for.
In both appointments, the dress became the foundation, and the accessory became the statement.
That is the magic of bridal styling. Your gown does not have to tell the whole story on its own. Sometimes the final touches are what make the look feel unmistakably yours.
