You’re running low on funds, you print out a bunch of resumes, put them in a folder, put on your nicest outfit, and hit the streets looking for a job.
But this is what you hear, time and time again.
“Sorry, we only take applications online”
But I am here now, walking around dropping off resumes in person… I am highly motivated to work…
“No, you must SUBMIT it online blah blah blah”
BANG! Digital Discrimination!
Special Note - This can be legislated: Employment applications must be accepted in person as well as online.
Next example…
How about this one?
You took the day off work, waited at the DMV for 2 hours, and got to the window…
And “Sorry, our systems are down; we cannot help you; we have been hacked!”
BAM! Digital Discrimination!
And the next one…
You’re 65 years old, and you have a lifetime of experience, wisdom, and knowledge… and must read the word “SUBMIT” on your resume online.
BOOM! Digital Discrimination!
Here is one more…
You are 72 years old, you are a Vietnam veteran, you still have a piece of shrapnel in your shoulder, you have the Purple Heart to show for it, you have a flip phone but no email, you need to work… You go to Applebee’s or some other chain restaurant… to serve tables or to bartend - no Computer skills required.
Nope, submit your resume online!
That is discrimination… It is the digital equivalent of age discrimination; I call it digital discrimination.
Sorry, I am on a roll here… cause is have seen so many scenarios.
You’re 82, you were in the Navy, you were a policeman for 20 years and retired, you worked security, and you head to the DMV, and you need an appointment. What happened? Well, COVID happened, and now you need an appointment. Scan the QR code to make an appointment. You have a flip phone.
Whoops, sorry, old-timer, veteran… law officer… you have just been digitally discriminated against.
We must demand an Analogy Alternative to everything while we still know how to do everything in an analog way. It will employ more people and provide those who choose to opt out a way to continue even in a world that has mostly gone digital.
In another life, I was a financial Technology Entrepreneur… from this former life of mine, I am acutely aware that Digital Discrimination is a real and present danger…

It is not too late; Tech Bro’s operate like Hitler invading the Sudetenland: they move forward with their agenda unless opposed; when opposed, they back down and try another way.
Reject flock cameras, Reject Data Centers/Survalence Centers, reject digital discrimination of all kinds.
Demand control of your data in the USA; the model for this already exists in Europe.
So let me explain to you what Nobody else does: the convenience is the bait… The problems that come with the convenience are the hook 🪝 because, as cyberattacks and security become a bigger and bigger problem, the next level of the game being rolled out is the surveillance state.
Yes, that is the solution to keep your convenience.
How does a small group of people control a much larger group of people… whoever they are?
Surveillance…
That is their solution.
Whoever they are…
Why? Because they need ever more robust systems to monitor every aspect of your life… they need threat analysis for every system.
They need Massive Data Centers = Surveillance Centers… No worries, the taxpayers don’t need to fund them; the tech entrepreneurs will fund them themselves…
What you don’t know, because you have been misinformed, is that the Sanford Research Institute gave the tech entrepreneurs their technology… among others, DARPA… to be rolled out against you…
Sounds great, right?
But these patents go into private hands… the federal government - we, the people funded 4 billion dollars of it in the past 10 years, while they have been around for 80 years.
How many of you knew that this privatization of “research and development” was going on for 80 years quietly while you were being sold a largely bull shit story of Tech Genius Entrepreneurs like Mark Zuckerberg… or Jeff Bezos?
So here is a theory,
What is DARPA’s “LifeLog” project,
LifeLog was a research program proposed by DARPA, the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, in 2003. Its goal was to develop a system that could create a detailed, searchable record of a person’s life-potentially combining things such as:
phone calls and emails
websites and media consumed
purchases and transactions
physical location
relationships and interactions
biometric information
other daily activities
The idea was to organize all of that information into a timeline and use it to identify patterns, habits, relationships, preferences, and intentions.
So what does Facebook have to do with it?
Here’s the interesting coincidence:
February 4, 2004: DARPA terminated LifeLog.
February 4, 2004: Mark Zuckerberg launched TheFacebook at Harvard.
That same-day timing is the basis for the claim that Facebook somehow replaced or became LifeLog.
I suppose this was just a coincidence?
In technology, programmers take code, reprocess it, convert it into a different language or format, and reuse code all the time.
DARPA developed LifeLog; somehow, Zuckerberg received this project and was not working for DARPA, but DARPA did the groundwork. The taxpayer-funded idea 💡 somehow got transferred to Zuckerberg, and LifeLog became Facebook.
The available historical evidence treats them as separate projects.
The fact that the dates coincide is real; the claimed institutional connection isn’t established.
But then again, how could it be proven…
Here are some facts…
Fast forward to the biggest example of Mark Zuckerberg affecting a US election: 2016
During the 2016 presidential election, Facebook became an important channel for political advertising and voter persuasion. Zuckerberg told Congress in 2018 that campaigns spent tens of millions of dollars on Facebook advertising and that Facebook had helped more than 2 million people register to vote.
There was also the Cambridge Analytica scandal. A Facebook app improperly obtained data associated with tens of millions of users, and Cambridge Analytica subsequently worked with the Trump campaign. Congress investigated whether Facebook data had been used for political targeting.
Separately, the U.S. intelligence investigation found that Russian actors used Facebook and other social-media platforms as part of an effort to interfere in the 2016 election. Facebook itself acknowledged that Russian influence operations had exploited its platform.
Let’s review the facts again.
Somehow Life Log gets canceled; Facebook is created…
Facebook becomes huge, and Zuckerberg becomes rich 🤑
Zuckerberg affects a US election in two ways…
Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, provided roughly $400 million through their philanthropic initiative to support election administration during the 2020 election. The money went to organizations supporting election infrastructure, particularly during COVID-19. Critics argued that this gave private money too much influence over election administration; supporters argued that it helped jurisdictions conduct the election safely.
And Facebook, remarkably similar to the US publicly funded Life Log, is the means by which elections get manipulated…
Back to Life Log for a minute…
What was the reason it was canceled?
Problem = Privacy issues…
Solution = Make it look private so people
Their own data willingly…
Facebook eventually developed something that looks conceptually similar to what LifeLog envisioned.
LifeLog wanted a comprehensive digital record of a person’s activities. Facebook encourages people to create a digital record: voluntarily
: photos + posts + relationships + locations + interests + messages + reactions + browsing/activity data
And modern social-media platforms collect substantially more behavioral information than the original Facebook did.
No wonder Mark Zuckerberg looked nervous in front of Congress.
The main means of digital discrimination is to get you to use systems that you have no control over.
And to require you to use only these systems constantly.

Cybersecurity… who is hacking these systems?
Whoever they are, they want you to believe it is Russian hackers…
Or maybe it is Iran…
But I say that is only partly true… mostly.

Here is a breakdown of the Cyber Security Industry by location.
United States: The largest concentration is around California’s Bay Area/Silicon Valley, Washington, D.C./Northern Virginia, Boston, New York, Austin, and Seattle.
Israel: Tel Aviv and the surrounding region are a major global cybersecurity hub.
Europe: Significant clusters exist in London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Dublin.
Asia: Singapore, Tokyo, and Tel Aviv are important cybersecurity centers.
The Cyber Security Scam
So the solution to the constant interruptions caused by service disruptions from cyberattacks is more and more cybersecurity, which helps create the problems it’s meant to solve.
That is called Circular logic… And yes, it’s illogical.
The only real solution is an analog alternative. Not more complex and complicated systems.
Without an analog alternative, you are dependent on systems you do not control. These systems have gotten so complex that virtually Nobody can individually understand them.
Here is a recent example I had in NYC.
I went to retrieve my car in a parking garage where their system went down, and the line quickly piled up. As Nobody could retrieve their car, I left and came back the next day when they got their system back up and running.
Luckily, I am a wandering philosopher, and I can do that cause I am not often in a rush to go anywhere 🙃😉🤣.
But…
While living in various places around the world, car parks function perfectly with tickets 🎫 and cash. The problem is… in the modern city. Nobody remembers how to do that.
If a cashier at a supermarket that accepts cash goes down.
Zero problem…
A point-of-sale device that links to a network that uses a system is only as good as all of the component pieces that allow it to work. But when things go down, it is just useless tech.
These are facts…
Demand non-digital alternatives… to digital discrimination…

This is why… my father is also old and a veteran and loves to walk around his town talking to people at the supermarket… paying his bills in person, and he knows every person he deals with while getting his steps in.
He is happy and loves to make others happy by wandering around town on his analog adventures.
Having an analog alternative to every digital system is the best redundancy…

In technology, we are always building redundant systems.
We are always working on systems that don’t fail… but somehow they always do fail… and Analog is the best redundancy to digital.

“Let me look at this person in Life Log Oops Freudian Slip Facebook… or Instascam, sorry, why do I keep doing that? I Freudian Slip… are they pretty… oh, so pretty…
Or maybe it does matter if they are black or white?
The Digital layer allows the discrimination to occur…
What’s wrong with that is that it is the digital layer that is once again allowing the Evil HR director to look 👀 at the application of a person and discriminate based on race, gender, or sexual orientation.
And not in ways that we previously imagined; I had a straight white male inform me that he had been discriminated against numerous times in the entertainment industry because he was straight. When he was searched up, images of his wife and son showed up on Facebook. Why that matters to some people, I don’t rightly know. This same friend many years ago refused to perform a sexual act on a much older male producer and missed a “job opportunity of a lifetime”. Nothing upsets me more than the injustice of this evil behavior.
He believes that it was his Facebook/Life Log profile that was how he was discriminated against. My answer to this is: stop posting; have one, but show very little.
So let me be clear…
Once again for the record!
Discrimination of any sort is wrong in my opinion.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men (and women) are created equal, that their Creator endows them with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
So is reverse discrimination…
But that is not what this article today is about…
Reverse discrimination is a growing problem for sure in some places.
But today I want to bring to light
DIGITAL DISCRIMINATION
And the way it has reintroduced all the other ugly forms of discrimination of the past.
Cause it has added a layer of surveillance that anyone can use to surveil a person digitally.
Surveil
Surveil means to watch or observe someone or something, especially for monitoring or gathering information.
The word entered English relatively recently, in the 18th century, as a back-formation from surveillance.
Its deeper roots are:
French: surveiller — “to watch over, keep watch”Old French: sur — “over, above” + veiller — “to watch, keep awake”Latin: super — “over, above” + vigilare — “to keep watch, be vigilant”
So, literally, the underlying idea is roughly:
sur- + veille → “watch over”
The related words are:
surveil → to watch/monitorsurveillance → the act or practice of watching/monitoringvigilant → watchful, alertvigil → a period of keeping watchsurvey → originally connected to the idea of looking over or examining something
Notice the “veil” part of the word SurVeil…
Who is watching you behind the “veil” and why?
They are above you…
Watching over you…
Not equal to you.
This belief in the inequality of human beings is the source of this elitism.
One final point… I must share… this is not an isolated issue. The LifeLog Facebook connection is not the only coincidence.
The Next Case Study
DARPA and Amazon: Where Defense Research and Commercial Technology Intersect
Amazon is often discussed alongside DARPA because several technologies central to Amazon’s modern business- cloud computing, large-scale data analysis, robotics, artificial intelligence, and autonomous systems- overlap with areas that DARPA has researched for decades. However, it is important to distinguish technological similarity and documented collaboration from claims that DARPA created Amazon itself. There is no evidence establishing that Amazon is a DARPA project; that would be too obvious.
One particularly well-documented connection is HIVE (Hierarchical Identify Verify Exploit), a DARPA program focused on extremely large-scale graph analytics. DARPA worked with MIT Lincoln Laboratory and Amazon Web Services (AWS) on the HIVE Graph Challenge, including the development of datasets involving potentially trillion-edge graphs. The goal was to develop ways of processing enormous networks of relationships generated by sources such as the Internet of Things, social networks, and sensor systems.
Robotics provides another important area of overlap. DARPA’s Autonomous Robotic Manipulation (ARM) program sought robots capable of independently grasping and manipulating objects in unstructured environments, using sensors and autonomous software. These capabilities are conceptually relevant to Amazon’s highly automated fulfillment operations. However, the DARPA program itself was designed for military applications and should not be presented as the source of Amazon’s warehouse robots.
DARPA has also invested heavily in autonomy and artificial intelligence. Its Assured Autonomy program developed methods for making learning-enabled autonomous systems safer and more predictable as they operate in changing environments. DARPA describes potential applications across autonomous vehicles and other cyber-physical systems.
There is an especially direct modern connection between Amazon and DARPA: Byron Cook, an Amazon vice president and distinguished scientist who founded Amazon’s Automated Reasoning Group, joined DARPA part-time in October 2024 through its Private Sector Personnel Program. His research focuses on automated reasoning, programming languages, verification, and security. (darpa.mil)
The overall picture is therefore more nuanced than the idea that “Amazon came from DARPA.” DARPA develops high-risk technologies, often for defense purposes, while companies such as Amazon develop commercial products and services. Sometimes the same technological foundations appear in both environments, and sometimes there are direct partnerships or personnel exchanges. The documented record supports significant technological and institutional intersections between DARPA and Amazon, but not the claim that Amazon was secretly created or controlled by DARPA.
So DARPA, once again, a publicly funded enterprise, developed technology that ends up in private hands. And we, the American people, were told a different story.
From ARPA to Amazon: The Bezos Family Connection
The story of Amazon begins in 1994 with Jeff Bezos, but the history of his family contains an unusual connection to the U.S. government’s early technology and defense establishment. Bezos’s maternal grandfather, Lawrence Preston Gise, had a significant government career during the early Cold War. Gise worked for the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC), including as an assistant director in its Division of Military Application, before joining the newly created Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) in 1958. ARPA was later renamed the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA. Historical accounts identify Gise as an early administrator of the agency and describe his responsibilities as involving program control and administration. (Verify this on Wikipedia)
ARPA was established in response to the technological shock of the Soviet launch of Sputnik. Its purpose was to pursue high-risk, advanced research that could give the United States strategic technological advantages. Decades later, DARPA-supported research would contribute to technologies associated with networking, computing, artificial intelligence, robotics, and other fields that became foundational to the modern digital economy. This creates an interesting historical backdrop to Bezos’s later career, although there is no evidence that ARPA financed or secretly created Amazon that would be too obvious.
Down to the very hand gestures… this is not just a one-off; it is a pattern.
Jeff Bezos himself describes Amazon’s origins very differently. In 1994, while working in New York, he became convinced that the rapidly expanding Internet represented an extraordinary commercial opportunity. He left his job and moved to the Seattle area to establish an online bookstore. Amazon’s own historical materials confirm that the company was incorporated in 1994 and opened its website in July 1995. Bezos’s parents supplied much of the original family investment, which he described as a bet on their son rather than a conventional investment in a proven business.
There is also a fascinating detail in the company’s early history. Amazon was originally incorporated as “Cadabra, Inc.”, a shortened reference to the magical word (big-time occult significance, but that’s a story for another day)
“abracadabra.” Bezos abandoned the name after his lawyer reportedly heard “Cadabra” as “cadaver.” Bezos later chose “Amazon,” inspired by the enormous Amazon River and his ambition to build an enormous online selection.
The documented story, therefore, is not that Gise created Amazon for the government. Rather, it is a remarkable family chronology: Gise participated in the creation of an early U.S. advanced-research agency; decades later, his grandson founded a company that became one of the world’s most powerful technology platforms. The technological worlds of government research and commercial innovation subsequently converged through Amazon Web Services, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, robotics, and defense contracts. The connection is historically interesting- but the evidence does not establish that Amazon itself was a DARPA creation.
So one of the world’s most powerful technologies Lands in the hands of people who have had high-level security clearance for at least one generation.
Why does this matter?
Because it’s a pattern…
Important publicly funded technology falls into the hands of private individuals who then make billions of dollars and control the infrastructure of privacy… or rather, the lack of your privacy.
What can be done about it?
Don’t hit…
Don’t put your data on the social networks… The funny thing about the word social media is that it’s the most antisocial thing ever created…
