Val Webb · Drawing the Natural World

This week on my lesson archive site, 32artcourses.substack.com, a free three-part project posted: Draw and Paint a Medieval Dyer’s Wheel. It’s a very different approach to botanical drawing, inspired by 12 Century dye plants and ancient woodcuts. If you haven’t seen it, take a look. It’s available to everyone.

Meanwhile, here at Drawing the Natural World, illustrated printables will go out this evening. Our subject is the gorgeous (but often unwelcome) common starling. If you want to draw glossy iridescent feathers, this is your bird.

And on Monday, watch for a new video/printable post on using watercolor and graphite to draw turtles.

Keep cool, and keep drawing!
