President Trump started his Sunday this weekend by posting an AI-generated video of himself strolling through a finished White House ballroom with George Washington and then thanking the dead man for the design tips.
Trump is behaving like a senile old man again, and California’s governor is doing one of the things he does best — holding up a mirror to Trump and MAGA’s face. But first, I want to take a moment to remind you that independent journalism only survives if the readers who depend on it choose to support it.
UnPresidented runs entirely on reader support and stays editorially independent only if enough of you choose to fund it. “Thank you, George, for some of your brilliant ideas on this great Military Complex/Ballroom! President DJT,” he wrote.
The clip shows the two of them walking side by side through the still-imaginary $927 million ballroom Trump is trying to force onto the White House grounds. Washington has been dead for 226 years, but that didn’t stop the president from treating him like a consultant who just dropped by with some “brilliant ideas.”
California Governor Gavin Newsom did not waste time calling out the bizarre post.
“He’s now claiming to talk to dead presidents. Get this man out of the White House and into the nursing home. 25th!” Newsom posted, explicitly invoking the constitutional process for removing a president who can no longer do the job.
The White House response was as expected. Spokesman Davis Ingle told the Daily Beast, “Gavin Newscum is the worst governor in America, and he also may be the dumbest.”
Observers immediately noticed that the AI version of Trump somehow managed to look taller than Washington, who historical records put between 6’2 and 6’3. Trump has long claimed to be 6-foot-3 himself, a claim that has never stood up to scrutiny.
The irony writes itself. History says Washington repeatedly rejected plans for a presidential residence four times the size of the current White House because he did not want the new republic to look like it was housing a king. Trump, by contrast, is bulldozing ahead with a 90,000-square-foot gilded ballroom modeled on Mar-a-Lago, which he has openly compared to the Palace of Versailles.
Nearly two-thirds of Americans say they are dissatisfied or upset with these vanity projects, according to a recent Washington Post poll. A federal appeals court has already ordered a stop to the construction after the East Wing was demolished; the administration has two weeks to appeal.
So the oldest president in history is now consulting dead Founding Fathers via artificial intelligence to sell a ballroom the public does not want and the courts are trying to block. The 25th Amendment chatter is getting louder by the hour, and the White House’s best reply is still name-calling. At this point the only person who seems impressed by the conversation with George Washington is the man who invented it.
