“Yahweh, you are my God. I will exalt you! I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago, in complete faithfulness and truth.” — Isaiah 25:1
Isaiah begins this chapter with personal praise: “Yahweh, you are my God.” His worship is rooted not merely in what God has done, but in who God is. He is faithful, trustworthy, and completely true.
Isaiah praises God for the “wonderful things” He has accomplished—things that were “planned long ago.” What may appear unexpected from our perspective has never surprised God. His purposes are not hurried responses to circumstances. He works according to His perfect wisdom and sovereign plan.
That truth brings tremendous comfort when life does not unfold as we expected. We may encounter delays, disappointments, or circumstances we cannot understand. Yet God sees what we cannot see. His plans stretch beyond the present moment, and His faithfulness never depends upon our ability to understand what He is doing.
The greatest demonstration of this truth is found in Jesus Christ. God’s plan of redemption was not an afterthought. Throughout Scripture, He promised a Savior, and at the appointed time Christ came, died for our sins, and rose again. God faithfully accomplished what He had promised.
Remembering God’s past faithfulness strengthens our confidence in Him today. We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we know the One who holds tomorrow. His plans are wise, His character is trustworthy, and His purposes will ultimately bring Him glory.
Think of one way God has demonstrated His faithfulness in your life. Praise Him for it today, and let that remembrance strengthen your trust in whatever you are currently facing.
Lord, I praise You for Your wonderful works.
Help me trust Your plans when I cannot understand them.
Keep my heart confident in Your faithfulness and truth.
