This year’s Bastille Day, French Independence Day is now also the France versus Spain World Cup semi-finals. Trust me, I’m not a sports fanatic, but most of France will be watching fireworks and simultaneously cheering for victory. It’s going to be an exciting evening in the streets of Bordeaux that’s for sure. Echoes of sizzling colors in the sky to a harmony of cheering allez les Bleus! and BUT!! (goal) will be heard throughout the city.
I'll be nestled somewhere along the Garonne River for the celebration, snacks in hand, of course. Specifically, a non-melting focaccia topped with red plums, caramelized onions, and bleu cheese. The closest thing to blue, white, and red I could come up with that didn't involve berries or whipped cream.
