everyone hates this game. there’s always at least a handful of people who don’t want to play, but we play anyway. they hate it because we don’t play it the standard way.
typically, you have a mafia, a healer, a sherrif, etc. everyone sees their card and you take turns accusing people based on their reactions and choice of words and whatnot. you do two rounds of taking turns then you vote and at night everyone sleeps and the mafia kills someone, the healer saves someone etc. then you wake up and start again.
the way we play we have at least two mafia to at least five innocent players (or one to four), everyone sees their card (you’re either a mafia or an innocent villager) and we discuss. no turns or order. someone starts with something, a question an accusation, and we go from there. it gets pretty wild, people get upset with each other, people come out of character, a single round can go on for hours just because we can’t decide who to vote for, and that’s why more and more people in our group are growing to hate the game. we also call the mafia zionists when we play it.
we didn’t play mafia tonight we played spy, because too many people hate mafia.
one of my brothers is traveling back to canada tonight, so we had friends over, and pizza, and the last of them just left. it’s almost three a.m. and my brothers are scouring through the kitchen drawers for the travelling brother’s medication while my dad snores on the couch in the next room, taking his power nap before the drive to the airport in about an hour. nunu is asleep with daddy in her traveling uncle’s room, who is also her godfather. i’m fallong asleep as i type this but i’m doing my best to stay awake and thought that writing would wake me up a bit because in a few days i’ll be traveling to australia and who knows when i’ll see my brothers again. i was wrong though i’m feeling even sleepier now.
until tomorrow <3
