The results are about the same as last month.
Disney DIS and Nvidia NVDA top the computed causal predictors for the values on the day in six months of the three US stock indices: S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, Dow Jones Industrial Average.
Search for “QQQ.US;SPY.US;DIA.US” on tsterm.com. Include the semicolons but exclude the quotation marks. They are the Exchange-Traded Funds that try to replicate the performance of the three stock indices.
DIS could reflect reduced discretionary spending of Americans. Both NVDA and KLAC work on semiconductor.
If one goes back to the homepage, the top causal predictors for global assets are computed as semiconductor again. The global assets cover all classes: stocks, bonds, currencies, etc in US and beyond US.
The No 3 causal predictor for global assets is computed as the exchange rate NZDUSD. NZDUSD measures how much US dollar one New Zealand dollar is worth. When it goes down, one New Zealand dollar is worth less US dollar, that’s when US dollar strengthens; when it goes up, that’s when US dollar weakens.
In the last three months, when US dollar strengthens, the US Bancorp USB stock price would drop; when US dollar weakens, the US Bancorp stock price would pick up.
