What’s up guys,
Just wanted to share that I’m moving away from the Trying Not to Suck at Life brand and going forward, I’ll be writing a new Substack newsletter under my real name.
This publication will be focused on health habits and sharing the most effective products and routines that have helped me along my journey.
Content will be similar to what I’ve written before. I’m also planning to update some of my best content. But the focus will be more on practical and tactical strategies for busy parents to improve their health.
Here is an excerpt from my About page:
What’s up guys? Welcome to Health Habits Notebook.
The purpose of this publication is to share the most effective habits, tactics, and tools I'm using to achieve top 1% health as a busy dad.
This is easier said than done because there are many factors working against our health in today’s world:
Modern-day environment (e.g., toxic chemicals, ultra-processed foods, and everything designed around convenience)
Societal factors (rewarding corporate success and work hard play hard mentality, inducing chronic stress)
Cultural norms (self-destructive habits like excessive alcohol consumption and binge-watching Netflix to decompress)
I consider health to be an infinite game. You cannot “win” or “beat the game.” All you can do is hope to continue playing and better yourself in the process.
There are many challenges to this game, some of which I mentioned above. Once you recognize these, you can adapt and build habits to overcome them, but it takes a high degree of self-awareness, agency, and thick skin (because you will be seen as “weird” or “obsessive” to a lot of people - don’t worry, this is a sign of progress).
I've spent over a decade trying to figure all this out for myself and have learned a lot in the process. As I've applied these skills, my quality of life has also improved greatly.
In this publication, my goal is to impart as much of my knowledge on health as possible and share it with anyone who's interested.
If you want to stay up to date on my writing in 2025, check it out here:
Thanks for reading and until next time, try not to suck at life.
