Let’s dive in, my secondhand-loving sweets:

Set of 4 abalone cocktail forks — $40

Imagine being the host who has these bad boys on offer. Huuuuge flex imo.

Modernist centerpiece bowl — $119

A stunner! So stunning, in fact, that I think it’s worth the shipping cost from the Netherlands. Though my European cohort take note — you could get this without the sting of transatlantic shipping costs!

Studio pottery lidded vessel — $36

Never ever be fooled into buying ceramics from a big box retailer because my god there are sooooo many vintage pieces floating around out there. More soul for the same (or better) price!

Small marbled frame — $24

A little sweetie that I think would actually make a perfect pair styled next to a photo in this frame.

Pair of striped lumbar pillows — $68

A fabulous classic stripe.

Mexican pivoting vanity mirror — $64

For your entryway table or your dresser or your bathroom. Nice in all applications!

Chintz transferware plate — $32

Okay the listing name of this says “aesthetic movement” and I do think that’s a search term I need to dig into further because I am enchanted by the collage-y look of this plate? Not a term on my radar at all and now I need to know more.

Perfectly chipped and glossy orange mirror — $56

The kind of aged finish that simply cannot be faked!

Signed and editioned print — $164

Graphic and convivial. And I’m always more excited about a print if it has a bit of the maker’s hand in it with a handwritten edition number or signature.

Decoupaged sardine bowl — $32

Where my tinned fish lovers at? But actually, love of fish not required, I just think the rhythm and and colors are quite nice.

Vintage quilt top — $75

Because quilt tops are technically unfinished (they don’t have batting or a backing) they are often cheaper than full quilts, but that also makes them easier to repurpose for other things. I used one to make a shower curtain in our guest bath, I also love them to reupholster benches or ottomans, and I think they look nice used like a throw at the end of a bed when you don’t actually NEED another blanket for warmth but want an additional layer for visual interest.

Black and white resin box — $32

Odds are this is from an aforementioned big box retailer (it doesn’t really give vintage to me) but if we’re buying it secondhand I give it a pass, and I think the punchiness of the black and white marbling would be very useful for styling.

4-piece painting — $140

From an artist a shared a few round ups ago whose work is quite affordable. Love this larger compilation — I’d be tempted to spring for a big custom frame and have them all together in one, but you could of course frame each individually.

Okay I did buy these mugs out from under you. I had them in the round up and then in an impulsive moment I said, “MINE!” and hit the buy now button. I think all the browsing of ceramics for the Pierce & Ward-inspired vintage round up got to my head and I had to partake in some purchasing of my own.

We were in Portland, Oregon last week visiting my family which was excellent because I love Portland and I love SUMMER in Portland even more. Being able to sit outside all day without being smothered in humidity is curative. Some related recommendations:

• A book of crosswords. My sister-in-law got this when we had a family trip to the beach last month and it is excellent as a group activity but also very fun solo. The joke was that she said she thought it cost $2 when she picked it up at the grocery store and we were aghast to learn it was actually FIFTEEN. But, after all the joy it brought us I said I would have happily paid $40 lol. I’ve taken to doing one nightly on the couch before bed.

• Bare Bones Broth. I am so crazy about this stuff because not only is it tasty, but it also has the powerful placebo effect of making me feel ~virtuous~ and ~healthful~. I drink it at home but it’s especially great for traveling because it has some protein and you can get a cup of hot water most places to mix it into (any Starbucks, on the plane).

• Ruti pants. The price on these pants is steep (I have a discount code! DELANEY15) but I’ve had them for 2+ years and they are absolutely worth it to me. The internet is obsessed with them for good reason. I wore them 4 days straight when I was in Portland. Extremely comfy, look polished, excellent for travel.

• Portland recs. I have a lot of Portland faves and I’ve corralled all the spots I’ve eaten and shopped at in a highlight on my Instagram in case you have a trip lined up.
