Inside Anatomy of a Witches’ Coven

This episode is a little different from the usual Other Conversations podcast.

I gave NotebookLM the complete text of my book, Anatomy of a Witches’ Coven, and asked its two presenters to talk about what they found there. What came back surprised me.

Rather than producing a brief summary, they spent almost 45 minutes pulling the book apart: examining why covens work, why they fail, what leadership actually demands, and what happens when a magical group becomes a container for shadow, projection, conflict and genuine transformation.

They explore the book’s use of Jungian psychology and alchemical symbolism, particularly the idea that a coven is more than a collection of people performing ritual together. At its best, it becomes a vessel in which something can happen to us—where relationships, authority, initiation, conflict and magical practice become part of the Work itself.

The conversation also ventures into some of the more difficult territory: unhealthy leadership, ego and initiation, the forces that can cause covens to fracture, and the difference between simply belonging to a magical group and participating in a genuinely transformative one.

Perhaps what interested me most was hearing the book reflected back through voices other than my own. They notice connections, themes and implications that I might describe differently, and occasionally frame ideas in ways that made me reconsider what I had written.

So this is not really an audiobook excerpt, nor is it a conventional book review. It is closer to an extended conversation with the ideas inside Anatomy of a Witches’ Coven.
