The kind where one thing goes wrong, then another thing goes wrong, then a third thing shows up and says, “Don’t worry, I’m here too.”
By late afternoon, it felt like everything was piling on at once.
Then I stumbled across this photo.
If there ever was a photo of myself that I could throw onto any situation, it’s this one.
Good news. Bad news. A random Tuesday where everything and nothing happened. Somehow it fits them all.
Maybe that’s because they’re all part of the same thing: life.
We spend so much time dividing our days into wins and losses, highs and lows, successes and setbacks.
But when I look at this photo, I don’t see any of that.
I just see someone fully participating in the ride.
That’s what I like about it.
The fist pump isn’t attached to a promotion, a vacation, a sold project, or some major milestone. For all I know, I had just found a parking spot at Trader Joe’s at 5:25 p.m.
It’s not celebrating a specific victory.
It’s celebrating being here for...
The chaos.
The uncertainty.
The laughter.
The disappointment.
The moments that change everything and the moments that change absolutely nothing.
Life!
