Hello and happy summer, officially!!
I hope you got up and out for the summer solstice yesterday. As previously discussed, my Florida + California upbringing has conditioned me to be solar-powered - so I was veryyy outside this weekend and there’s no signs of stopping!
As always, the city of Los Angeles is here to serve when it comes to entertainment value, especially in the summer. I stray away from events/things to do lists these days but there’s simply too much happening right now and I need to spread the good word!
See a list of summer activities I’m eyeing after the jump -
World Cup Fan Fests & Watch Parties - There is no shortage of places to watch, the options are truly overwhelming! It’s been so fun to see everyone come out and get into it. A few standouts for me:
Love Hour - Nike LA x Koretown Run Club just threw the most epic watch party this past week. I have a feeling there’s more to come… watch this space ^
Hammer Museum - even museums are partaking in the fun!
Michelob Ultra Pitchside Club at Santa Monica Pier - now through 6/25!
California State Parks Historian Passport - In honor of USA 250th Anniversary, California State Parks is offering free admission to 30+ parks through the rest of the year! More details at the link
KCRW Summer Nights - My favorite LA summer programming and you know that! DJ dance parties all over the city, all summer. The best
LACMA Block Party - …was this past weekend and it was SO epic. Truly a wonderful event front to back! Stay tuned for more LACMA events this summer, I have a feeling programming will reach far beyond the Friday jazz nights we know and love.
Link Up Worldwide - Andre Power’s monthly dance party in DTLA. Never, ever a bad time!
Day Trip LA - All summer long at LA Historic State Park! Check their calendar for more deets
Block Print - I don’t know what this is but IG targeted me. A block party with Franc Moody DJ set in Venice though? I’m easily sold.
Yoko Ono at The Broad - The exhibit is wonderful, but to get us outside - make a wish at one of the trees in the courtyard next to the museum! So special.
Cinespia - Maybe the most quintessential LA experience? Top 10? Watch a movie in a cemetery while you picnic with pals, it’s a thing!
What’s one quintessential LA summer activity for you? Drop a comment or reply directly to this email, I’d love to hear! Xoxo
