This is to you, the mothers.
I have read a lot of posts on substack recently. Post after post from women, from mothers.
And do you know what I love the most about your writing?
That I can hear your voice
I can hear you in your writing. I can hear if your laughing and joking or being sarcastic. I can hear if your crying, in pain, in despair.
I can hear your worries, your questions, your undying love for your child.
I can tell if you've been up late at night frantically claiming some you time. I can feel in your typos; your tiredness. I can hear the fluidity of your speech and sense your need to release secrets you never speak aloud.
I can hear if you are writing softly and slowly or typing angry and screaming.
Everytime you write dear mother, without using AI or some other soul warping tech, I read your words and I hear you.
You. The amazing, talented, determined, creative, incredible mother. I can hear your voice.
So please, never never stop writing. For I, no we, my fellow wonderful mothers, we can hear you.
And we, want to listen.
