I will never understand this. They are a smart educated couple. They are socially aware, concerned and active. They are philanthropic to the arts and marginalized groups. They are concerned about the environment and climate. They have numerous friends who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. They are pro same-sex marriage. I’ve witnessed them buy food for a homeless person. Or give money on the streets. More than once.
Yet they continue to vote straight republican. Straight hate.
They continue to vote for a party - federal right down to the local level - that does nothing but pass laws and policies to harm all the aforementioned. They continue to point out all the problems with the Democratic Party yet when someone pushes right back with republican party examples, they end the conversation or have no response.
Why?
One issue.
Abortion.
Because their stupid fucking religion - Catholicism - doesn’t agree with abortion. The same fucking religion that protects a Pedophile President. The same fucking religion that protected/protects priests who rape little boys. The same fucking religion that told some friends of mine years ago they still expected their usual annual tithing - yet didn’t knock once on their door when he lost his job and their teenage daughter was dealing with thyroid cancer. All in the same year. But you draw the line and cast your vote based on your church’s view on abortion???? FUCKING HYPOCTITES!
When your own daughter moves away because she just could no longer understand, listen to, or try to have intelligent conversation regarding your political views, perhaps that should have been a message?
When your own son had to meet a mail-order bride because no woman here in the US was interested in him, perhaps that should have been a message? And when there were some immigration snags all you could comment on was how all these “illegals” were here and he’s doing the right things. What about all the immigrants who are also doing the right things but are being fucked or whisked away on the way to their appointment to finalize all the legal steps they have taken? All because they are brown! Which by the way, so is the dude who you pray to on Sunday mornings.
Your immigrant friends are carrying around their passport and other documentation proving they’re US Citizens because they are fearful of being detained or worse deported for no reason other than the color of their skin. Yet you have nothing to say.
When your LGBTQ+ friend asked you to speak up to people within your own party about their hate after you expressed your opinion that people should be left alone on who they choose to love, you sat silent with no response. You were willing to say that to your LGBTQ+ friend but not make noise within your own party? Silence. Crickets.
70%+ people in the US support same-sex marriage yet every time an election rolls around the LGBTQ+ community has their marriage threatened again - somewhere. Are you fucking kidding me!! Yet you and others in your party won’t be vocal to members of your own party. Saying it to your gay friend is just preaching it to the choir. Try saying to your actual choir this Sunday morning. I’m more than 70% positive you won’t turn into a fireball.
One thing is clear………………you’re a one issue voter. It’s pretty evident when the only political sign I’ve ever seen on your lawn was to criminalize and outlaw abortion in your state. You’re guided or should I say misguided by a fucking church that includes some of the biggest bunch of thieves and hypocrites on the planet. But yeah, go clutch your rosary beads.
I’m not even asking you to change your views on abortion. I’m not. But your continued support of a party that does nothing but try to hurt, harm or destroy things that you actually think are important just makes no sense. Why others from your party who share your thoughts and beliefs are also not willing to shout to your party leadership that enough is enough already with some issues, just baffles me.
All because of abortion.
How a smart educated couple has been duped by a party of hateful, greedy, lying, criminal motherfuckers and a religion that is beyond hypocritical is something I will never understand. Never.
Or maybe you’re just not as smart and educated as I give you credit for.
