I get high almost every night. A gummy.

Why?

Because 9 years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Six years ago, which was three years after successful radiation treatment, I started bouts of frequent urination. I did not sleep for one year! Up every 75 - 90 mins most nights to pee. Seriously. No exaggeration.

Four urologists. Five meds. Over-the-counter stuff. Cameras inserted into my pee-pee far too many times. And who knew the pee-pee was capable of two-way traffic? Yes, apparently you can stick a hose into it and shoot water up the passage! I stopped drinking liquids at ridiculous hours. Nope. My kidneys were not amused at the tricks I was trying to play on them and just kept producing more piss! The only answer I could get from the medical community was “Radiation, the gift that keeps on giving.”

Fuck that!! You go one year without sleeping and you’ll take matters into your own hands.

That’s when I started researching Delta 9 THC Gummies. Found a few stories of people with OAB (overactive bladder) who were having success. They didn’t mention cancer, but I figured what can I lose.

They worked and continue to work five years later. Whatever is in them puts me into a deeper sleep or slows down the kidneys from creating urine. Or who knows what. All I knew was that I was sleeping 5-7 hrs per night.

But here’s the kicker…………My current Urologist didn’t want to discuss it. My Oncologist didn’t want to discuss it. My Primary just nodded. When I told them what I was doing they had no interest in a discussion at all. No interest in asking any questions. No interest in perhaps doing some testing to make sure I wasn’t damaging anything. No interest in even sharing with other patients who might be at wit’s end like I was. Nothing but a dismissive…………. “Well if it’s working for you keep doing it.” And you want people to believe that Big Pharma and the Medical Community aren’t in bed together. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

One young Wellness Pharmacist was willing to have an intelligent conversation. One guy who acknowledged that there is not enough science or research being done in the area of THC in healthcare, but he did say it was on the rise.

So 9 yrs later I am sleeping, my oncologist commented how super low my PSA is for someone so many years out, and nothing in my annual bloodwork is out of whack. Periodically I’ll take a “gummy vacation.” I’ll let you guess what happens to my sleep within a few days.

Physically better. Mentally Better. Spiritually better. Emotionally better. And not from a drug that causes diarrhea, nausea, weight gain, headache, dizziness, blood pressure problems, tremors, hallucinations, anaphylaxis, seizures, etc. etc. But from a substance that we are seeing more and more beneficial to our health than “the professionals” want to talk about.

And all for about $18 a month.
