This week’s post is more of a traditional newsletter, as I wanted to give a few updates on what I’m working on for the coming weeks and make an announcement:

First, I am thrilled to announce that my newly minted book, An Anthropology of Wandering: How Adventure Can Alleviate a Fearful Culture, won the National Indie Excellence Awards for Best Nonfiction in the Midwest. This is my first award for the book, and it feels amazing to have received this recognition. I’m grateful for everyone out there who’s read, reviewed, and supported my work over the years. Cheers to you all!
I’ll be on a trip in a couple of weeks, taking a road trip out to Rhode Island and Maine to visit family and celebrate the 4th of July on the East Coast.
July 7, 2026, will mark the third anniversary of Those Who Wander on Substack, so I will have a special celebration post along with some deals for prospective subscribers.
Lastly, I’ll be working on a few new posts in the coming months and will soon be publishing another wonderful Featured Wanderer article.
