Good evening everyone! I know I haven’t written anything in about a week now, but you must forgive me. Work has been hectic and, I know it’s usually pretty crazy, but this week’s news cycle is beyond unfathomable and absolutely exhausting.
trump deployed the National Guard and U.S. Marines in a major U.S. City, called for a Democratic Governor’s arrest with the speaker of the house, Mike Johnson also calling for him to be “tarred and feathered”, A democratic Senator, Alex Padilla, was tackled to the floor and handcuffed during a Homeland Insecurity press conference as he started to ask a question, and two Democratic state legislators from Minnesota were shot in their homes, with the state representative, Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, both dying from their injuries shortly after. The shooter is of course a trump supporting white nationalist. I will try to break these stories down as best I can and will then go over how today’s No King’s protest went compared to trump’s sad dictator military birthday parade.
Buckle up, because it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
When I left you all, we were in the midst of Los Angeles, California being invaded by the National Guard and United States Marines to “quell” peaceful protests in a small part of the city center. And by quell, I mean instigate, escalate and inflame the situation leading to protesters getting injured and arrested. In one shocking instance, a man was temporarily detained by a U.S. Marine. This is a complete violation of the Posse Comitatus Act, which states:
“Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army, the Navy, the Marine Corps, the Air Force, or the Space Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.”
And since trump has not invoked the Insurrection Act, this is an illegal act. And to remind everyone, it is also illegal and unconstitutional for a sitting president to activate a state’s national guard troops without that state Governor’s explicit approval or request. California Governor, Gavin Newsom, did not request nor approve of the national guard being sent in to Los Angeles.
Newsom filed a lawsuit in federal Court on Thursday, June 12, in the Northern District of California and a federal judge ordered a temporary injunction stating trump must give the power of the national guard back to the California Governor. However, in a shocking and what seems like instant ruling, an appeals court immediately blocked the Federal Court’s ruling, issuing a temporary stay until a hearing can commence on June 17th. Two of the three judges on the appeals court panel were appointed by trump.
June 17th is a long time to wait for how quickly things escalate in today’s insane political climate.
trump then called for Gavin Newsom to be arrested, but when pressed on why, trump stated, “Because he’s terrible at his job”. That is nowhere near a lawful reason to arrest someone. The speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, then defended trump saying the governor should be “tarred and feathered”, because of course they want to go back to the tortures of the 1800’s since they want a king and all.
Gavin Newsom is the duly elected Governor of the largest state economy in the United States and the fourth largest in the world. California could leave the union and still function as an independent country. But sure, trump, Gavin Newsom is “bad at his job”. Totally not the man who sends in the National Guard and U.S. Marines to escalate peaceful protests by Americans exercising their First Amendment rights, and NOT to help with the wildfires that burned a massive portion of Northern Los Angeles. In fact, trump deliberately refused to help the people of California simply because he does not like Gavin Newsom and hates that the state did not vote for him.
Let me say that again so it is crystal clear. The sitting President of the United States sent the National Guard and U.S. Marines into Los Angeles, not to assist with devastating wildfires, but to deliberately escalate tensions and incite violence against protesters who were lawfully exercising their First Amendment rights. And he did it because California voted for Kamala Harris.
People are protesting because the ICE raids are completely out of control. Instead of arresting violent criminals and drug traffickers, ICE is targeting migrants who are following the legal process and showing up to their scheduled immigration hearings.
Remember when MAGA loyalists spent over a decade screaming, “I do not care if they come the right way, just do it legally”? What an absolute lie that turned out to be.
ICE agents are now arresting people at their immigration hearings, while they are actively complying with the legal immigration system. These are families and individuals doing exactly what the law requires, and ICE is detaining them on the spot. That is not law enforcement. That is state sanctioned betrayal and it is disgusting.
ICE is going from business to business and sweeping areas like stores, parks and beaches, completely terrorizing quiet communities. Would you tolerate that either? Because I know I wouldn’t. I have been asking myself this question the last couple days: What is to stop them from going door to door to people’s homes? We have seen this happen before in history. You know what I’m talking about.
The department of Homeland Insecurity held a press conference at the federal building in L.A. with US Senator from California, Alex Padilla in attendance. Senator Padilla began to ask a question, first stating, “I’m Senator Alex Padilla and I have a question..”, he is immediately rushed by a group of men, pushed out the doors of the conference room and tackled to the floor and placed in handcuffs. For asking a question. He didn’t even get to ask the question.
ICE barbie and dog murdering psychopath, Kristi Noem, stated they did not know who he was. This is a complete and utter lie because not only did they know who he was, they literally invited him to the press conference after he requested a visit. He was vetted before the visit, and again upon arriving to the Federal Building. For Kristi Noem and DHS to go on camera in front of the entire nation and claim they did not know who he was is absolute bone chilling and psychotic and should terrify everyone.
Because, if they will attack a United States Senator in that way, then just imagine how they are treating the cooks, the farmers and the nannies being detained and labeled as “violent criminal illegal aliens”. Senator Padilla is pushing back against Noem’s false claims.
I also want to point out the very chilling statement ICE barbie Noem gave just before Senator Padilla was assaulted. She stated, “We are here to ‘liberate’ this city from the socialists and burdensome leadership”, which is literally an admission of invading L.A. for political reasons and nothing else.
Again. An absolute psychopath.
The reason this should absolutely terrify everyone is this morning’s breaking news out of Minnesota. 2 Democratic Lawmakers, State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were both shot and killed this morning in a politically motivated assassination at their home in Brooklyn Park. State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were also shot in their home, located about 9 miles away from the first attack. They are in stable condition at this time.
The Tower Project and all of Arizona stands with Minnesota in this moment of horrific loss.
The assassin is Vance Boelter, who is a big supporter of donald trump and had a manifesto of names to be targeted next, including Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, US Senator Tina Smith, US Rep Ilhan Omar, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, and several others. All Democratically elected leaders. I won’t go too much into this asshole so you can read the latest here.
The assassin is still on the loose, so the Minnesota State Patrol issued a statement urging protesters to stay home. They didn’t listen to that warning, because this was St. Paul Minnesota today:
In fact, People turned out across the country today in numbers we have never seen before. The most recent number, from Alt National Parks on Bluesky, estimates over 11 MILLION people came out to protest against donald trump today.
That is Historic and would make it the largest protest in U.S. history if the number is confirmed to be accurate.
That is just about 3.5% of the population. There has been research done into regimes that came to power and fell in the last 100 years. In each of those cases, the regimes fell shortly after 3.5% of that Nation’s population went out and protested the current regimes in power.
I strongly believe that if we hit 3.5%, then congress will have no choice but to listen to the people and impeach donald trump. And they will have ample opportunity to do so because Representative Al Green will be introducing article of impeachment against trump. You may be telling yourself that is pointless because Mike Johnson would never allow articles of impeachment against trump to make it to the house floor for a vote. BUT, there is something called Rule IX, which allows a representative to force a bill, or impeachment articles, to the floor for a vote, and the members of the house must vote on it.
This would be the perfect opportunity to listen to the mandate Americans just sent Capitol Hill to remove trump. If that is not enough, recent polling shows nearly 2/3rds of Americans now disapprove of trump when it comes to immigration, something he campaigned the strongest on, and the fact he has activated the national guard and U.S. Marines on American soil against civilians. Yeah, it turns out that following hitler’s playbook is actually not very popular with the majority of Americans. Shocking, I know.
To drive my point home about how absolute unpopular donald trump is, all you have to do is take a look at how many people attended his dictator military birthday parade hosted by some crypto coin company. Oh, and funded by our tax dollars.
The event was so unpopular, in fact, that there are reports of ads being placed to bribe people into attending. Even mother Nature was not pleased as it quite literally rained on his parade. There were expected to be over 200,000 in attendance, but it doesn’t look like nearly that many people showed up. I haven’t been able to find an official number, probably because they are embarrassed by the turn out, but it’s more in the tens of thousands at most.
So, a few thousand showed up for trump, and more likely to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the U.S. Miliary, which was started on June 14, 1775.
