This was a big week for us in the Smith household. I had a photoshoot for a biggggg project that I’ve been working on for over a year now and yes, I’ll have more info on that soon. 👀 My round ligament pain is really starting to kick in so between the sciatic pain and that I’m moving a little slower, but it’s just reminding me that I need to be better about stretching. Daniel and I actually took turns massaging the muscles last night and I feel like it really made a difference this morning! Plus, I am so grateful for the ability to go to a highly training prenatal chiropractor because wow what a difference that makes!
Side note, is anyone aware of a PFA free KT tape? Sound off in the comments or group chat if you have one. <3 The chat is also there and open for any questions you have! I try to respond to everything, but other community members will usually respond as well.
📚 WHAT TO READ: Hi, I’m Tessa and I can’t seem to read anything but Abby Jimenez. To be fair, I did try Yesteryear. I got two pages in and realized that it very much was not for me. So instead I'm back on my Abby Jimenez binge and am reading The Night We Met. I read on my phone since my only real reading time is the time between Celia initially falling asleep and her being deeply asleep and I can leave the room, so I’m about 3/4 of the way through and it’s equally as easy and enjoyable to read as all of her other books I've read so far.
📺 WHAT TO WATCH: Celia hasn’t really been napping lately which has actually been nice because she’s going to bed so much earlier. So Daniel and I had ourselves a little weekend movie night this past weekend and watched How to Make a Killing on Netflix and we loved it! The critic reviews were actually pretty bad, but the movie was fantastic so I have no idea what they were talking about.
🎧 WHAT TO LISTEN TO: Anna Mondanaro just had a co-sleeping specialist on her podcast and while I haven’t listened to the episode yet, I do want to. We have been co-sleeping with Celia since she was 4 months old, but we didn’t start co-sleeping right out of the gate. With Baby #2 on the way, co-sleeping from infancy is something that has been on my mind. To be frank, as you’ll see in the belly of the newsletter, I do plan on having a bassinet, but I don’t think I’ll be as terrified to fall asleep with my newborn in bed with me this time around. Buttttt I also think I’ll feel most comfortable with baby next to me in a bassinet when they’re brand new. Ipso fact, I haven’t made up my mind. So I would like to just hear if she has any words of wisdom for that very early stage of life. If you have any comments, tips, guidance from your experience please leave that below.
*I’m also listening to Abby Gamboa on shuffle while I write this.
Quit sugar before bed! The other night we ate dessert before bed, which don’t get me wrong it was delicious, but I woke up the next day thinking I needed an IV. It was a full on sugar hangover. And we didn’t even that much!!! Food before bed in itself is bad because your body can’t focus on rest, it has to focus on digestion and therefore plummets your sleep efficiency. Though when the thing you eat is sugar, that spikes your glucose and cortisol impacting your sleep rhythm and overall sleep.
And if you were wondering what I did to feel better, I simply cut out sugar that next day and drank a tonnnnn of water and an adrenal cocktail drink. I’ve been liking the one from livehealthillie since it
Each month there are certain things that I sort of fixate on. Most of the time they’re repeat products and I use them month after month, but with these “favorites” posts I try to include new things that I realized I’m so thoroughly and totally obsessed with. It’s a random assortment of things and I hope you love them all as much as I do.
