Back before COVID I had an office on the other side of town. I could have worked from home, but this rented office had one big advantage, a mile-long walk down the beach to get there. That walk did more for my business than any hack I’ve paid for since.

One morning (if AI was writing this it would call it a random Tuesday) I decided it was time for a new product. I’d wanted to build something like a subscription box for a while, but digital, a low cost membership delivering monthly training on key concepts, building up over time into a full guide to internet marketing, like an encyclopedia without the required shelf space.

An hour later I was sat in the cafe attached to the office with a coffee and a toasted ham and cheese sandwich, sketching out the idea and the tools I’d use to build it.

Then three questions, worked out on an earlier walk, and I needed a yes on all three before I did anything else.

Did I have what I needed to build this without a lot of expense?

Could I get a hundred people to pay $9.99?

Could I run it in under twelve hours a month?

Three yeses. So I sent an email.

By early afternoon it was out, just a plain description of the idea and a link. I told myself if I got fifty people interested I’d go ahead. Zero money spent, under two hours of time.

Seventy people had opted in by that evening, so I went ahead with the planning the next day. Three days later I sent a second email, and interest was up to 134.

I launched 2 weeks later. 174 subscribers, 30% of them taking the $89 one-time annual option, the rest on $9.99 a month. Add it up across the year and that’s close to $20,000, from one beach walk, a sandwich, and two emails.

Don’t reinvent the wheel. Use the tools you have.

The next Module of Write To Earn is due to be added in a couple of weeks, you can get it included at the current launch price. (23 copies left)

Paid subscribers also get access to all my communities, courses, and books.
