If you’re looking for something to do this August and happen to be in the area, why not enjoy an unforgettable evening of outdoor theatre?
Macbeth - Sunday 30th August, 5-7pm
Join the Handlebards at the Sustainability Centre for a hilariously high-energy production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth like you’ve never seen before. Forget the doom and gloom—this version is packed with mishaps, mayhem, and plenty of laughs.
You know the story: three witches promise Macbeth the Scottish crown, and, as any perfectly reasonable couple might, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth decide the best way to claim it is to murder the king. From there, things quickly spiral into chaos as sinister plots unravel, guilty consciences emerge, and mysterious spirits make their presence known.
Suitable for audiences of all ages... and apparitions!
The Handlebards are an intrepid three-person troupe touring the UK by electric van, bringing environmentally sustainable Shakespeare to beautiful outdoor venues across the country.
This is an open-air performance, so be sure to bring a chair or picnic blanket, pack a picnic to enjoy during the show, and dress appropriately for the weather.
Beech Café
Just a reminder that our café will be open throughout the summer as usual, serving freshly brewed coffee, delicious vegetarian food, and homemade ice cream.
Well-behaved dogs are very welcome too, as long as they are kept on a lead.
The café is open every Wednesday to Sunday, from 8:30am to 4:00pm.
Whether you’re joining us for a stay, attending a course or event, stopping by the café, or simply visiting our grounds for a walk, we look forward to welcoming you.
