I haven’t been publishing very much here at The Saltwater Chronicles over the past few weeks, so I wanted to give a quick update to tell you why: I’m moving! To the Pacific Northwest!
I currently live in the South, about a 4.5 to 5-hour drive from the Gulf Coast. That’s wonderful—I grew up in landlocked Iowa, so living a weekend trip away from the ocean has been a delightful change. But I’m ready to be even closer.
The Pacific Northwest captured my heart when I was a teenager, so getting to move to Oregon just weeks before I turn 30 is a delight. I won’t be living right on the Oregon Coast (will be based out of Portland, which I am excited about for vegan and outdoorsy reasons), but being only 1.5 to 2 hours away will make for a lot of great, frequent day trips. Not to mention being able to drive to spots up and down the West Coast—I’ve also absolutely loved the time I’ve gotten to spend on the Olympic Peninsula, in coastal British Columbia, and in other beautiful, wildlife-packed locations. Getting to visit these places more frequently will be wonderful.
Most of my free time and focus is currently being poured into pulling off this cross-country move, so I won’t be writing very much over the coming weeks. But definitely tune back in next week—I have a really exciting Q&A in the hopper for you all.
I hope to be back in the swing of things by the beginning of September. And, since I’ll be living in Oregon, which is a coastal playground, hopefully serving up a lot of new ocean photos and content for you alongside “Making Waves Weekly.”
Thank you all for being here. Enjoy next week’s post, and I’ll catch y’all in September.
