Deidra and I were texting when the final June numbers came in.
I read them twice.
Biggest month in the history of Choice. Twelve years in business and we have never closed a month like this one. And when I pulled back and looked at the first half of the year as a whole, the number was even bigger. The best six months we have ever had.
I want to celebrate that. I will, with our team, of course. But sitting with the numbers for a few days, I realized what I actually want to give you is not a celebration post. It is the roadmap. Because this story does not start in June. It starts with $50,000 I lit on fire last year.
I wrote about that mistake here: How I Blew $50,000 in My Business. If you have not read it, the short version is this. I made a thoughtful, well reasoned investment in a marketing tactic that was not true to Choice. It looked smart on paper. It was not who we are. And the lesson Lindsey handed me in the middle of that mess was the one that has quietly run underneath everything since.
At our core, we are relational. Not transactional.
That single sentence is the thread. Everything below is what it looks like when you actually build a business around it instead of just believing it. Twelve months ago I blew $50,000. This June we had the biggest month of our company’s life.
That is not a coincidence and it is not luck.
It is a roadmap. Here it is. Make it your own.
