Hey there, beautiful sensitive ones! I have a big big post brewing — an exhaustive, comprehensive list and guide to all the holistic and nutrition-based health and beauty hacks I use as a woman rounding 47 in perimenopause and become my best crone self. I do hate the word ‘hacks’ but it kind of best encompasses the energy of the tips and guide I’ll be sharing. And it won’t be standard basic stuff like “DRINK MOAR WATER and stay hydrated, ladies!!!” or “Get better sleep!!! And 10k steps!” Like, no shit. My tips are way more granular and, dare I say, rather unique to the space. I can’t wait to write this one up, I think it will be really fun and useful.
That said, this week is the last before the first draft of Tarot for People-Pleasers and Perfectionists: How to Use the Cards to Make Better Decisions, Set Boundaries, and Finally Trust Yourself is due to my editor. So the energy is all going into final edits, re-reads, scans, etc, whatnot to finish that. If all goes well, I’ll turn it in on the partial lunar eclipse and full moon this Friday, which really feels like a release and a culmination, an ending, and a moving on into the next chapter of whatever this wild life ride has for me. (Especially because I turned in the proposal of the book to the contest I’d end up winning on a Virgo new Moon in 2025.)
But I don’t want to leave you hanging without a fresh new post this week, especially since we have so many new paid subscribers thanks to the Virgo season sale that’s going on here for 20% off. This is a paid subscriber sale going on now through September 22, for 20% off a lifetime subscription, at $5.60 a month or $61.60 a year.
So I’m going to take out a section of what I was going to write in my crone’s beauty hack guide and share it today instead: the nourishing health and beauty tonics I make every week and drink instead of coffee.
As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and wellness junkie who has a very sensitive nervous system and tends to run super high stress already, who continually is trying to escape the grasp of caffeine and coffee (10 days into my latest full caffeine detox…) I found one of the keys to not drinking caffeine is to have a bevy of other interesting drinks to focus on, be making, and always have in your hands.
I also see (and have experienced) that highly sensitive people really overall struggle with digestion and low stomach acid, due to stress and regularly being in fight-or-flight. It can be harder for us to absorb nutrients from food since we’re not the best digestors, and so one of the ways we can get better nourishment is through thoughtful, mineral-rich drinks. (We usually have tanked and fried adrenals too, due to stress as well. And do you know what organ starts to take over for the ovaries in perimenopause? The adrenals. So they need to be in pretty good shape, so a lot of these drinks are geared towards that.)
So! Below I’ll give you SIX recipes (and how/where to source the ingredients) for…
My daily vitamin C immune and beauty tonic tea
My homemade electrolyte recipe
My fall warming latte that acts as a coffee replacement
My nourishing nighttime tonic for better sleep
My better-than-bone-broth drink
My fave adrenal cocktail
None of these are super complicated and the ingredients should be available in local stores, local health stores, or easily online (and I’ll share where I source, too).
So ready to have a slew of fun new drinks in your hand this late summer and early fall? Let’s go!
