Every year on July 22, World Brain Day brings attention to brain health and neurological conditions. The 2026 theme, “Brain Health: Access for All,” focused on the gaps that still exist in neurological care, information, and support. Neurological conditions affect more than 3.4 billion people worldwide and are the leading cause of disability globally. This year’s campaign encouraged greater equity, prevention, early support, community involvement, and public awareness.

For World Brain Day, I created a brain health display at a local public library. I chose to highlight books about neuroscience, sleep, stress, memory, mental well-being, and other related topics. I also included educational materials that visitors could read at the library or take home.

The library felt like a very good place for this project to be situated in, as it gives people of different ages and backgrounds free and easy access to information. Visitors could come across the clear and understandable brain health resources during a regular library visit, even if they had not planned to search for information about the brain.

I first created a World Brain Day display at the library last summer. This year, I brought the project back and connected it more closely to the 2026 theme of access. It gave me another chance to share brain health information in a community space.

I am grateful to the library for supporting the project and giving me space to share these resources with the community!
